Every single time i start up Multi theft auto it continues to say,

"Multi Theft Auto 0.5 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvience."

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE HELL I NEED TO DO TO PLAY THIS??? I've had this problem for a long time, gave up and now i'm trying again!!! PLEASE HELP!! i've been looking for the answer for a long long long time!

Maybe because you looked in the wrong section. This is the help area for MTA:SA, not MTA 0.5

Ok first, what are you trying to play? GTA:3 ? GTA:VC ? or GTA:SA ?

GTA:3 and GTA:VC both use MTA 0.5

but GTA:SA uses a seperate program than the rest.

Whatever game you are trying to play, make sure you have it installed first, some people think MTA is the entire game. Maybe you know all this already and its just that your computer is being an ass.

Do you have mods installed on your game?

Play single player first before installing the MTA modification, this can sometimes prevent certain errors. Do the first mission for example and then download MTA, if you havent already tried this.

Look where you installed MTA - open mta.ini file, add this..

DontGetLatest=1

Also, remeber to close everything before you run the client.
