Simbad de Zeeman
will this things be include? in the new mta:sa version? 26 Aug 2005 05:06:03 am New feature revealed! A couple of posts ago I had mentioned a new surprise coming to blue. It is no secret anymore--blue now features a robust in-game voice communication system. This feature will include: Mutability Allows a user on a slow connection to disable voice packet interception totally, or on a per-user basis. This also makes group-only voice communication possible. Mutability will allow team-specific voice communication, and the ability to block out disruptive players. 8000kHz, 16-bit GSM encoding Sampling that is good enough to sound perfectly clear, without using too much bandwidth ( around 1.6KB/s for a steady stream of audio ). Button activation Use of a button bound to a keyboard key to send audio. Automatic buffering Helps reduce skippy audio due to lag. Distance testing Reduces the amount bandwidth per client. Will be configurable server side (on/off/distance). This will theoretically lower bandwidth consumption on both the client and server. There will be a modifiable distance setting to define how "far" voice packets "reach." Future additions will include: Icons Players that are talking will have a voice 'icon' affixed over their heads (and optionally on the screen). Voice Activation In-game voice communication will be optionally activated upon voice volume detection. We'll keep you posted as the days go by on the progress of any of the elements in the "future additions" category. -Derek Link to comment
