EinDev
Hey, so i have just had the pleasure of being banned on discord because i have asked for a ban appeal. This thread is not about the appeal. I understand that it won't be lifted under any circumstance and that there is no way around that. It is more about how the appeal was handled. All i did was join the discord, ask a simple question about the ban. Without any notification or notice, i just got a timeout and other people were complaining about cheating "kids". I have read the rules, it does not mention it. In the forum rules, it even states under the Ban section: Quote Instead of evading the ban, you can try appealing it on our Discord’s #support channel. If you were also banned on Discord, please do not try to evade your ban there. Ask someone to contact us for you (or use another communication method as listed at the top of this article). I believe the process of not allowing appeals is legitimate and there are many platforms doing the same. But please don't just handle people who appeal just like you would handle criminals. To be honest, even criminals at least get to know their rights before they get any legal action. I hope you don't just ban me here as well. Not that i would care, since i'll have to trash MTA anyways. And i just wasted 50€ to get another copy of GTA:SA to play an old game again, which i won't be able to play anymore (i guess). Administrators Tut Posted November 11 Administrators Share Posted November 11 @EinDev We don't ban users from our discord for asking about their ban. As you haven't included your Discord info I cannot look into how your situation was handled. But I can tell you that when a user asks about their ban, we type out a command that prompts our bot to send you a link and explanation to why we don't accept appeals anymore. If they choose to argue this further then we may apply a temporary mute. Also, it is worth noting that our Automod automatically blocks any attempts at appealing bans along with applying a temporary mute and an explanation to our no-appeals policy. It's expected that people read this message upon getting muted and if they repeat then we may escalate to a longer mute, warning or removal from the server. Link to comment
EinDev
Hello @Tut. Thank you for your kind reply. I am talking about this message: https://discord.com/channels/278474088903606273/278521065435824128/1304542007708090399 I actually did not even attempt to appeal, i was just asking for more information regarding the message. If your anticheat is as over-sensitive as teh bot, no wonder it falsely detected me. I am a poweruser, i have a lot of stuff on my PC which could be considered harmful. But i can tell you, i never got banned in the first place, so why would i want to change my serial? I am starting to argue again, sorry I am just glad you took your time to read my message and respond, thank you. I feel like there is not much more to say though Link to comment
EinDev
I just tried playing again, worth a try, i thought. Now my ban message changed: The only thing i can imagine being the cause is the Windows 11 23H2 Update i just installed. Please make a FAQ which legitimate software could falsely be considered harmful. Link to comment
Administrators Tut Posted November 17 Administrators Share Posted November 17 The picture in your most recent comment doesn't load, but I just wanted to clarify we never removed you from the server - our Automod remove one of your messages and muted you for 24 hours, but had this been seen/reported to us it would have been reverted. So you are fine. As far as the game ban go, try bumping your question in the discord channel. If you need to see the message that you tried sending which got caught by Automod then please ping me on discord. For any further inquiries into your situation you're also welcome to ask in the Discord channel where you initially asked about this issue. As for a FAQ on false positives, I don't believe this would be needed, but you are welcome to ask and provide your reasons in Discord and one of the more technical guys might reply Link to comment
