Guest
Edit : FIXED by reinstalling windows, GTA, and MTA. Just for the record, the problem was : -- Hello ! I just bought GTA VC to play MTA. But I do not succeed playing MTA. When I start MTA progress bar appears but once complete, I'm back on Windows without any trace of GTA. In the meantime, GTA itself works. Here is what I tried (none of these worked) : * I selected English as language (I bought french version), * I copied .gxt files except american in my MTA folder * I created an empty mtaclientwelcome.dat file in my MTA folder * I upgraded to GTA VC 1.1 * I changed in-game resolution to 800x600 I am using MTA 0.5. Could you please help me fixing this ? Thank you, I'm pretty sure MTA is great to play... plagiats Edited February 13, 2006 by Guest Link to comment

Guest
Well, sorry I did not mention but I did all that things too. I played GTA alone a bit. I tried MTA. Said to put in english. Did so. Starting then I always faced my bug (progress bar -> back to windows). BTW, sound is not working on my windows ( I need to fix that too ), do you think it could be somewhat related (GTA itself works) ? Link to comment
Brophy
Uninstall MTA again, and reinstall Link to comment
Guest
Thanks for your answers. Edit : Ok, I'm back. I uninstalled and redownloaded-reinstalled MTA 0.5, checked that version 1.1 is choosen in the options, and MTA still crashes I'm feeling bad 'cause I really bought GTA VC just for MTA.. {DMA}Kfgus3
Your MTAClient crashes or your ViceCity crashes? Link to comment
Guest
Vice City crashes. I mean : I can launch the MTA client, connect to a server and "Start game", it launches the MTA version of VC. I choose new game > start multiplayer game. Then progress bar appears and when it is fully complete I'm back on windows with, still, the MTA client open. Strange thing is GTA VC itself works. I played a bit with it. Link to comment
zerb
Perhaps some other applications on your computer are still swtich on while you are playing, some anti virus programs might have to be switched off, MSN etc. if you havent already done so. Link to comment
Guest
Thanks but ... well no program/antivirus or such is running when I try to play MTA. Am I the only one to report such crash ? Link to comment
Brophy
Check if the american.gxt is in the mta folder in gta vice city and the mtad.scm and mtas.scm is in the data folder Link to comment

MTA Team jhxp Posted February 13, 2006 MTA Team Share Posted February 13, 2006 Maybe you've been using xfire while running mta? On certain systems it does crash mtavc (like on mine, for example). Disabling it before launching mta fixes it. Link to comment
Guest
No. I don't know what xfire is. anyway problem is now solved, thanks. Link to comment
