><CHAIN><
I can play the game with no MTA just GTA so i dont think that is the problem k, but 'that' was not a solution - simply a question to ascertain the specs! Well done for trying jammydodger4... Sorry it didnt work for you. It has worked for other strange issues. I assume you followed the instructions carefully (removed the old drivers from the system and CAB files as instructed by Driver Cleaner Pro then installed latest official drivers) then at least your drivers are clean and up to date. Elimination, if anything. Well so far it looks as though only ATI graphics are experiencing this issue, unless anyone can correct me.... And others have had issues where the game runs fine UNTIL they install MTASA - which have been solved by updating to latest official graphics drvers. I'm stumped at this point! But I really think that whatever MTASA changes or adds to the original game is conflcting with graphics in someway (loosely speaking). Possibly the overlay that is used by the manu system MTA introduced? Needs more expert help than I can offer sorry I'll keep watching this post 'cos I'm interested. Link to comment
Guest
I have the same problem and I am using an ATI Radeon 8500DV. Maybe it is an issue with ATI cards. Link to comment
Guest
Ok so just after I posted I was having the same issue. I went into my Device Manager and clicked on my graphics card under Displays and clicked on Update Drivers. I let it search Windows Update for updates. It found updates and installed them. I restarted my machine and then started MTA and it loaded just fine. Not sure if that helps anyone else but mine is working now and I am using an ATI card. Link to comment

It's possible then that only the the WHQL drivers are the solution to this issue, which is what will be on the windows update site. Uninstall the ATI drivers completely or roll them back to a very early version (maybe the CDROM that came with the PC). Then visit Windows Update to get current (do not use ATI website to download). Looking forward to hearing if that solve's it Link to comment

Leviathan
don't double post, and the bad words are filtered, ok. you have to live with it. and about omega drivers. they work good. and it's veary easy to uninstall them if you want to get rid of them. and it's allso easy to uninstall your newer drivers. just go to device manager and select your VGA card and uninstall it. reboot. and install the omega drivers.. it's easy Link to comment
iam2noob4u
I got exactly the same problem, with (how could it be) an ATI graphic-card (ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000/9100 IGP), got directx 9.0c. but all this comes down to: ATI graphiccard owners will have a grey/black screen after the intro movie, and can solve this by downloading driver updates? (updating with device manager) Link to comment

><CHAIN><
So does anyone know if MTASA has worked on a laptop with an ATI graphics chipset? Also, I remember in a blog entry that there were some graphics issues with MTASA and ATI cards, although I'm not sure of the details. BTW quickest way to device manager = Right-click My Computer, select Manage and hey presto! Link to comment
