it loads but then it closes

i need help i start up mta i join a game then i go to start game then i go to the start game in vc it starts loading it gets to the end then it sends me back to my desktop i closed all of the programs im not upgraded to 1.01 cause it wont let me it says that its an unkown version please help oh yeah i downloade vice city could that be why

Yes it's because you downloaded Vice City. I suggest you stop the illegal discussion and go buy the game.

i am haveing this same problem.

i have tried reinstalling mta and gta:vc many times, but problem still continues.

When i click the start button, it opens, i click through the advartisements and everything, and go through the menues. It starts loading. The bar finishes, and a screen of a city from a distance appears, and the the MOTD which is a bunch of random things.

I bought the whole game and everything, so it can't be anything like that.

i have version 1.0 i think

512 mb RAM

Where did you buy the game? The German and Australian retail versions will NOT work with MTA because of the exe.

Change the version type from 1.0 to 1.1 in your options tab on the mta client if you havent already done so also.

i just tried switching versions to 1.1 again, and i got disconnected for 'suspected trainer useage.'

btw, i was wondering, a long time ago, i played this game, and i duno how, but somehow i got a speedometer to come up in the bottom left corner of my screen. i was wondering if i used some command to get it, or it was a mod i don't remember getting or what, but is there a posibility that could be the problem? whenever i reinstall, it appears there again.

Cokecan: That is part of MTAVC 0.5, so that cant prevent you from playing.

yeah, i got the exact same problem stated at the beginning.. i have 1.1 and its set on 1.1 on MTA, and it just loads, shows a second if that of the game or wahtever should come after the loading.. then exits vice city completely and brings it to the desktop... dont know what the hells goin on

alright, i think this is the solution... unfortunatly it makes NO sense to me whatsoever.. so someone go ahead and try it and then post up how they figured it out on this thread:

alright, turns out that wasnt the problem at all in my case... i just had a speedometer mod on... thats all that did it for me. if you have mods on, turn em off.. otherwise i guess try that other thing i just posted
