    Today, me and my roomy both got (me 2 minutes later than he) this: It's documented here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/125749 http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa277943(VS.60).aspx I was playing in Speed is King server. Can't remember the map, but it was using objects. Well, I report nothing here, as it was probably some custom script bug, but just noting it down here at the moment if someone else might have it.

    I would add just one thing. It would be great to have one more race server for the latest MTA, as for some reason race has become my favorite gamemode. So, I hope you can make the conversion.

    Well, yeah, as I pointed out two times it's not a mandatory feature of MTA and there are more important stuff to do first. Just if someone has particular interest in sound. Using the software to preeffect the sound however, isn't always the best solution, because if I want to change the effect given to a audio file during gameplay, this means all these sound files need to be downloaded. OK for short audiofiles, though. If BASS is chosen for future use, it should bring streaming support which would greatly make sense for my 3dradio resource, and I would love to also give this more-base-heared-than-high-notes effect (other than lowered volume, which is currently already implemented) that people can hear on the street in closed cars.

    Thank you, it was meant for localhost testing anyway. Though funny it's not added as a built in command to client side.
  7. Using sound effects would be a nice feature. Though not so high priority and shouldn't be implemented yet, as you plan to replace irrKlang with something else. However, seems that irrKlang has these effects which could be used with MTA.

    I just got a great idea. A simple, nice looking comparison table would be a nice feature on MTA site (well, why not knock out competition , a lot of applications and services advertise with this sort of feature lists). Of course it should be radical and honest, showing all negative sides of MTA as well. Also, I think (based of no facts) that main user base of sa-mp is younger (and by younger I mean children), and too young user-base isn't always good. Knock that thought out if you know I'm wrong (about % of ~10 year players OR my understanding of the behavior of people in that age).

  13. Hi. I find the custom model support a very awesome feature of MTA (besides everything else, I'm still amazed of the amount of stuff people can do with scripting, mapping etc) However, I've the tendency to not have working collisions for most of my models, I'm using 3ds Max 7 with Kams COL IO (version 2b). It just falls through. For example I used this tutorial today to make a landscape from heightmap http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=191636 It turned out to be incredibly easy, though I textured it in Google Sketchup as that seems to be easier (with a very lame texture, though). Only small part of the collision works though (the code to replace the collision is definitely correct). It once made a difference for a object if I didn't put the center of the object to the xyz nullpoint, but only on one side, but I doubt this was the reason. Maybe some of you have more experience with collisions and have had same problems (and solutions)? Anyway, I would be happy to see what kind of maps people will build using heightmaps and for MTA, really great stuff could be made (I should better check the showroom forum).

    Well, it's not that I'm interested in the radio content, but the idea that nothing has to be streamed through servers.

    That's one of the main drawbacks, yes. However, it might be okey, if server sends empty audio files for example, which player can somehow overwrite for themselves. Other thing is, that the songs will be downloaded only once for a player.... Too bad MIDI files aren't supported... Also, it would be great if GTA San Andreas own radio could be accessed as files.

    OUTDATED, HEAD TO: viewtopic.php?f=108&t=28717 radio3d allows to choose from a selection of songs in a vehicle for the driver. Everybody else can hear a song as well (in 3d). It should work with any resource/gamemode, though settings might need to be changed, i.e in race disable turning off song when vehicle explodes or person gets out of it (as the vehicle gets respawned). There are still MANY rough edges and the code is not polished, but it would be great if someone likes to test it. Ideally there shouldn't be any problems already (I'm sure there is, though). I'm most interested how it affects the frame rate and server with many joined people. Of course, bug reports and feature requests are welcome as well. UPDATE2: You can now download radio3d from MTA Community Resources. Changelog: Fixed use of settings, plus added new settings.
