Well, this would have been my worst day ever, but I managed to fix it... It was my first BIOS flash, my board being a little older (ASUS A7Pro). Well I flashed my ROM with the wrong bios, yes that's right. Dead PC, no beeps at all, nothing. Could you believe I had an old ASUS TXP4 laying around which just happened to use the same sized BIOS ROM as my A7Pro.... So I throw together a pc with the TXP4 and boot it up, at which point I removed the BIOS ROM while the pc was running. From there I placed the BIOS ROM from the A7pro into the running TXP4 board, performed a proper flash and again remove the ROM while pc still running and insert the original. Reboot TXP4 and all is ok. So I put my newley flashed BIOS ROM into the A7Pro and hit the power button.........Nothing............ I was sooooooo mad at myself. Not only did i flash the chip with the wrong software, but I also scratched my A7Pro mobo with the screwdriver I was using to remove the chip in the first place. Lucky for me the scratch wasnt too deep to short anything. After a break and a doobie, I returned to my A7Pro with only a little patience left. I decided to clear the cmos by removing the battery, but that didn't help either. Upon further investigation I noticed "Clear CMOS" printed on the mobo underneath two pins. As soon as i shorted the two cmos pins my pc booted right up. Set all defaults in BIOS and off I went. Since then I am much more cautious, but have also gained some pride for my efforts in correcting my issue. Other than that, my biggest issue is with that stupid symnatec partition magic, ALWAYS back up ur files before messing with partitions. And remember, knoppix, ect. will read a RAW file format lol.

Ya, but can i ask... I have Rogers Exterme High Speed. 8Mbps down, and i think 864 or something up. I have two servers running on a dedicated pc, how many players in total u think i could get?

this doesnt seem to work for me from server window, i cant seem to chat from server, however i can issue commands. edit. I finally got 2 instances of remote admin working properly now, so i am very happy and no longer need assistance. Thank u very much for ur help...

indeed... can i chat from the server window? what commands are available within the server itself? typing help shows me commands specified for rcon admin. kick command works in server, however it seems i can not chat from the server. im talking about the server itself, not remote admin, or rcon admin. but the server window. Thanks for ur help.

well, remote admins r on the same pc as servers, ports r correct, only 1 connects, other times out

Thank u for confirming it would work. I now have the servers up and running. But it seems i cant get remote admin to work on both servers, it will only work with my original server... Again, thanks for ur time.

Game-Host.com hosts multiple servers from the same ip address, but using different ports. I have been trying to set up a private server to go beside my public server, but it wont seen to work. Ill continue trying, but if someone could help me out it would be great. question is, im on XP, their probable on linux etc.... can it be done in XP? Thanks for your time.

Indeed you can do this. I have two gtasa client machines behind my NAT and both connect to all servers fine.

u must make sure it is exactly right.... example stupid.map

I had the same issue, fixed by deleting thr gta_sa.set file in user folder. problem happened multiple times, but not since marking .set file as read only....... edit, and come to think of it, i never had this issue before updating ati drivers to 6.1

Well, don't ask me what my SA DVD was doing on the floor but I stepped on it and I scratched it. I have the game fully installed and can play with the DVD still, But no chance of installing from this DVD agian. I do have an Image of the DVD on file, but is very hard to burn with no need of emulation. So, im gonna go buy V2, only $30.00canadian @ futureshop. And I will test ur patch. U say this patch wont cause problems in SP mode cause u included the dlls right? Does it include script.img or any other files? I will edit post with results. I assume this will be a US version that I buy in Canada right?

kinger, i have never uploaded a map, but i am positive the issue has already been raised, further more, there is prob a solution already.

I can see my server, it on a dedicated pc routed but in dmz zone. usuallly server needs to be on for a few minuter befroe it shows up in browser on my playing pc (also behind router.)

Well, I get this error too, howerver until now it was intermittent. Now, I can't play at all!! Before a reboot would fix the issue, now nothing seems to fix it. Edit: Problem solved by deleting the gta_sa.set file in the user files folder and regonfiguring in SP mode. Edit 2: Feb.19, probably should have bumped..... Well, it happened again....And deleting the gta_sa.set file fixed the problem again! If i then put that gta_sa.set file back in error comes back. So, it is definitly causing my problems. Question is, how does my gta_sa.set file become curropt?

I think its a great idea The system isnt flawed, people just dont vote. Once the limited maps on server issue is resolved it wont matter anyway, because most admins will download every map anyway.

once i got stuck under water, i dont remember the vehicle but i could drive. i was not cheating. and today in my server a guy was in the water but wouldnt drown. he drew my attention and suggested that the server was lagging. so i rebooted. but i have seen NO obvious cheating on my server. anti cheat seems to boot ppl when something on their pc (ie. vid/snd drivers become unresponsive. this is should be more of a "kicked for crappy pc" than a kicked for suspected cheating. hahaha

Would it be possible to allow spectators to see the checkpoints while spectating a player? Is there a way to allow a admin to spectate ONLY? Cause sometimes I just want to watch. Maybe when u connect to a server u could do so as an admin, with the choice of being invisable or not (playing or not). Why can I not change my game options in MTA? It seems I must start a SP game to access these, which kinda sucks cause sometimes I like to change my controller option buttons.

well, i have a server. even i have been kicked from my own server for "cheating". i have no mods at all in game and was not cheating at all. i think anti cheat is more buggy than anything right now. for instance, i tried to boot MTA SA on my wifes laptop to play a little 1 on 1, but her via graphics chip crashed. after about 5 seconds server kicked her for suspected cheating. maybe wait a little for updated anticheat.
