hi,
ive noticed that map is redownloaded on every reconnect (freeroam server). its starting to be annoying as my map is getting larger and larger, now my map is 1,02MB.
is this bad idea to convert maps to client-side scripts so there will be no need to download them only once?
and.. when i join the server (this happen for everybody) game freezes for 10 seconds after downloading resources.. can i fix this somehow? i suspect that is becouse of a lot of objects need to be created at once.
well, in San Andreas radios aren't working this way, like in Vice City.
this isn't one stream for each radio
each radios have some songs, and some presenter parts(speaker? dont know proper word). and they are mixed.
you got help. if you need somebody do the job for you, better prepare some $
for more links about scripting tutorials you can check other topics, they are all the same..
some info:
i did some not-too-advanced-but-not-crappy stats, and it took me about a week ^^
1st: you need to wait some time, 3-24 hours probably.
2nd: check if your ports are open (not blocked by firewall, or you are not behind the NAT (if you are, you need to forward ports)), the port on which server is running (default 22003), and the server monitor port (server port + 123 = default 22126).
you should be able to test your ports here: http://www.canyouseeme.org/ (i not tested this tool)
amybe you edited the accounts.xml when your server was online? server overwrites that file..
cant you register account with /register ? Its with admin resource, or freeroam (i cant remember)
the main problem is the fog that exist on mta.. you really dont need higher draw distance.
fog density is controlled by weather in mta, some weather id`s have no fog at all, but it looks at least strange, but you can see almost the opposite end of map on default draw distance
serverffs is very popular,
i dont get server there but i was in their panel and its nice, you can create MySQL database for your game data (this is NOT a standard), create ftps, well, a lot of things
and their support is very nice, and they dont treat you like a lame (if you dont ask lame questions )..
anyway i preffer unmanaged VPS on Debian (cheaper and better, but requires a lot of knowledge)
