  1. Hi awesome script, it has really helped me out. But when i set my map location it doesn't load up the gtasa-map-small.jpg and marker.tga and only comes up blank. So where do you have to extract them files to because I just extracted the whole archive to C:\...scripts/startup Also I noticed you can't set the height of the map, so in game what height is it? I've looked around in the rough location where I set the map location but I can never find it. I have created a large track and its going to take forever aligning each model one by one Please help me! Thanks <3

    I guess you haven't been playing MTA for a long time, or you're new to MTA. Yes, you can select world objects. Im sure when you edit a world object it creates a copy
  3. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm new to moddig MTA. Is there a way to add a whole IPL and IDE into MTA as a map file? I know the answer is going to be no because its a completely different system to SA, but who knows, maybe someone created a tool to do it. Also (another dumb question) is it possible to compress my custom files into a .IMG and put it in my resource folder instead of having to add each file loosely? It can get messy when adding alot of files so being able to compress them into one file would be helpful

I'm not too sure but it sounds like one of your models may be too big, open your scene in max, make sure you have the units set to generic, create a box 250x250x250 and centre it, if any model is bigger than that then there is your problem. It's not likely as that box size is pretty big, but hey it's a place to start. Let me know how you get on <3
  6. you always have to compress your textures, also using square textures like 512x512 or 1024x1024 will ensure a smoother TXD to work with

  8. LOD's are complicated to find as they do not share names or id's with their original model. Your best bet is to just leave it, it shouldn't have .col so you'll go straight through it. But if you are a perfectionist like me, then I bet this is driving you crazy! Can you not create a ramp so you jump over it instead of going through it? Or maybe add some non collidable decoration around it so it dont just look like your driving through a box, like wires, xmas lights, ect. Or as Koyi stated you can use a script to remove it but that can be complicated if you don't know how to script

  10. First off did you extract it to 3ds max2010/scripts/startup? or just the scripts folder? If you only put it in the scripts folder, simply open max, click on the MAXScript tab at the top and click on run script. Once you have located the script to run, click on the hammer near the create new objects tab and there it is. I advise you to put the scripts into your start up folder so that you don't have to run it every time you open max. If you have any problems let me know <3

    world objects cannot be selected, although they can be removed by creating a script that removes them, or if your playing offline you can remove the file from the directory

  14. Hi everyone. I've been adding stuff to SA for years but I have only just learned how to add them to MTA. I use 3DS Max and kams maxscripts. Unfortunately all of my friends are boring and are not into gaming like me, so I'm looking to make some new modding friends to make some maps with. Sorry if i posted this in the wrong place <3 <3
  15. Thank you it's very basic though, didnt want to waste too much time on it so I just used 3 seamless textures with a box uvw map. Going to unwrap some better textures from it now that I know how to add it to MTA

  18. oh i see, when it created the LUA automatically, i assumed i had to insert the model names myself, and also the exporter doesnt work with TXD's so i attempted to add it myself lol fail. Thanks i will try it now
  19. Hi I've been creating maps for SA for years now, but I am new to MTA as I have only just discovered you can add your own custom models to server. So i followed a few tutorials online to add models to a server but they always have the same outcome, the original model is never being replaced. I followed 4 tutorials atleast 3 times but still nothing. Firstly I created and exported a simple carpark in 3DS max Added to my IMG, IDE and IPL to test before I put into MTA and it worked fine. 1st time I tried adding a model to MTA i just copied their script and changed the file names to carpark.dff, ect, but it didn't work, I created a basic script to add the message "did it work?" for when i start the script and that worked fine. So I fiddled around with the 1st script to try and get it working but it only come up with the "did it work" text. I tried another tutorial and this time they used 50's map exporting script to create a .map file and automatically create the meta and lua, but it's doing exactly the same thing. When I type 'start test' (name of resource folder) in the console, the loading bar comes up and "did it work" comes up but when I search the ID that my model is meant to be replacing it hasn't changed. Is there another command I should be typing? Is my script wrong? Can somebody please help me? I have a couple of ideas but not sure, in the .lua file, there are "..'s" next to the file names, are they meant to be there? Also the first script I made didnt have "temp" next to local. Do you think these are the problem? This script was auto generated so I don't think it would be the problem
