I stopped death match on SA-MP when I found it annoying so I passed to RPing, and now I'm doing the same on MTA. I think it's a little bit the same for everyone. On SA-MP most of the players are playing on a RP server but they are playing a DM server aswell in paralell.

Today I added (not replaced) new clothes for my CJ by modifying GTA's datafiles & adding dff & txd to the player.img file, it perfectly works on Single Player, but when I try to set my new haircuts and other stuff on my dedicaced server, it doesn't work, this would be cool if server's owner would be able to add customs CJ's clothes, haircuts, tatoos etc. I think it's because of the client's datafiles, how can I modify them? I hope that with the new MTA version, each server will be able to have custom datafiles (I mean the datas that you can find in "GTA San Andreas/Data/..." and also customs players.img files, I mean that we could be able to add some. EDIT: Maybe it's possible with a system similar to this one with cars: ?

Yeah let's come back on subject, well I hope atleast that it's possible to increase the number of dynamic players without having troubles.

100% agree! (Shit I found someone who's got the same ideas as me ) The next WoW is on MTA lmao. More players = more excitement.

Well, in 1.0 they probably will. But if you go look for some SA-MP or MTA video's on Youtube, you see big "discussions" in which fans of both sides claim that that side is better. SA-MP's fans claim that SA-MP is much better. (without arguments to support their opinion... nubz ) While MTA people say MTA is much better. (guess what, a lot of these also don't have arguments... However, there are much more people having arguments on MTA than on SA-MP.) It's quite weird that people still think SA-MP is better for some reason... I really don't see why... Well, they're just being conservative I guess. =/ 1. The sych is way better. 2. It's an open source project. 3. Atleast Developers looks active. 4. Some many functions more! 5. LUA is more powerful than Pawno Etc. I'm agree with ya. & MTA ftw.

I'm agree with you Mr. Hankey, but when MTA 1.0 will come, it won't be useless, lemme remind you that we under a Developer Preview version it's just normal if there aren't many people on MTA at the moment, everyone is sticked to SAMP because of these role-play servers, but when it will come to MTA, believe me it will change . yes many people prefere sa-mp because of its roleplay, but there are MANY people that dont even know mta exists, it was said in another topic, that new comers that want to play san andreas online can just type http://www.sa-mp.com and they get sa-mp's site, no ones ever going to figure about mta before sa-mp by himself People will certainly tell each other that it's better than SA-MP.

Ah I though it was gonna be up to 250/500 like SA-MP.
 -
How many players MTA 1.0 is gonna support, this is kinda important for my project. I attempted to find that, but I didn't. Thanks for your answer.

Not designed for that amount of players? Doesn't mean shit to me... For a good scripted Role-Playing server this would be possible to keep it without any problems, anyway about the amount of players.
 -
Yeah that's the "problem", I think.
 -
But it's possible to create a server for players who have that mod installed into the game Yeah you right it is, as I have got a custom race track installed on my game and it works perfectly in MTA.
 -
I think you are wrong, I mean, for a very good role-playing server, the ability of a it to have lots of people will make people join more & more. Anyway if for now, MTA isn't really played, I'm pretty sure this is gonna change. All I'm asking is what is gonna be the limit at all.
 -
How can this be limited by GTA SA? Is there an limit like "players numer" in GTA SA? No. Maximum number of actors? Streaming is your friend. Yeah they are a limit of actor/ped at the screen, I know about streaming, but I mean if like 500 people go at the same place, there'd have problems, I think. Well, this is your opinion. I know though that the maximum amount of player will make some people join, cause more they are people on, more this is interesting for role-playing, ain't it? About the user base, I don't really get it but you said the "current" database so maybe it's gonna change.

Hey, I wanted to ask if go over 500 dynamic players (for example) on one server would be possible in a next MTA version, at all if this isn't possible cause of the SA Limits, I know tool that allows them to repush them (SA Limits Ajuster). I'm asking because playing over 1000 people on a server would be an awesome experience for roleplays etc anyway if it cause problems at all, then there'd be moderns MMORPG and that's the dream of alot of Role-Players.. Thanks.

I also though about this function (I think that's it in .scm language): This allows you to open/close the trunk/door of your car, I didn't find it in the list of the functions for MTA. 0657: car 0@ open_componentA 1 0657: car 0@ close_componentA 1

Well, if you can still attach to the bones of the players, it's still good to me .
 -
Cool! I hope they'll keep it all the way then
 -
What did you do here? Attached the cars to the player's bones?
 -
Will this look realist? I mean with no lags, maybe developers should check that thread. Edit: You mean we will be able to get the position of the hand of the player etc?
 -
Oh lol what a coincidence (), so we can already attach objects to player's bone?
 -
Hello, First of, I think syching this function would be awesome: with it you can attach an object to a part of the player's bone, for example, the hand. This is a .scm function. 070A: AS_actor 6@ attach_to_object 8@ offset 0.0 0.1 -0.02 on_bone 6 16 perform_animation "NULL" IFP_file "NULL" time -1 Also these would be good: this allows you to create/attach to player particles like fire, insects etc. 064B: 3@ = create_particle "FIRE" at 2222.676 -1258.893 23.50549 type 1 0669: 13@ = attach_particle "EXHALE" to_actor 6@ with_offset 0.0 0.0 0.0 flag 1 I hope you'll think about these as I think include these functions would be very nice.
