  1. I've been away from the MTA scene for a while now but I was once a head admin on Valhalla MTA and heavily involved in the server's origins and it's period as the #1 MTA server. Seeing the current state of MTA's RP community is very disappointing. When we first created the Valhalla script our aim was always to be innovative and offer role players, mainly those from SAMP who had never played MTA before, something new. Our edge was to try and do things differently and hopefully better. Admittedly we didn't always get it right, but in general we did. This was evident by our large player count. Becoming successful was not easy and it was not quick. The scripters put in months of work before we launched the server, we endured periods where we achieved daily peaks of fewer than 10 players and throughout that time I was involved the script was constantly updated and improved (sometimes maybe too fast) with innovative features. It took commitment, patience, hard work and even talent. My point is that no server based off of a copy or with minimal thought or effort is going to see long term success. Running a role play community is almost a full time job that requires dedication, effort and maturity. Three key characteristics most role play community leaders seem to be missing. Running a role play community was incredibly rewarding, however it is not something that can be decided on a whim. Off-topic: Please don't mistake me with the forum user "Chamberlien". He is a former Valhalla player who, for whatever reason, chose to adopt a name very similar to mine.

    The White Rabbit

The quote is talking about Lewis Carrolls "Alice's Adventure In Wonderland" which ties in with with white rabbit references. A quick google and its the lyrics from "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane.
  3. Websites should still accommodate IE7 users. It's a pain the rear that every web programmer would prefer to live without but there are still a lot of users with IE7 and IE7 isn't really considered an "old" browser in the same vein as IE6 which needs to be killed immediately with a stake to the heart. The statistics posted above will be extremely unreliable given the website they were collected on.
  4. There's your mistake.. Yes I did read your whole post. Looks like a typical IE bug. It should look like this: EDIT: I just check it in IE8 and it looks fine. What version of IE are you using?
  5. Great job. I think it's your best video yet. Is this going to be a full short film or is the trailer you have posted as much as you plan to do with it?

    Niky's DESTINY

Brilliant video. I would love to see you try and put together a video with a narrative. Edit: I just watched your other videos and they are all head and shoulders above any other GTA Machinima I have seen anyone else produce. I loved the Liberty Gangser video. The last shot on the church steps was almost identical to the movie.

    MTA and SAMP

They would lose also a strong comunity on samp making them all move to mta, i dont believe he would do that. He is not stupid i think. Kye had an issue with the Valhalla MTA server and made other accusations against the Valhalla Community. He decided he did not want Valhalla using SAMP so "permanently revoked Valhalla Gaming's license to use the SA-MP software" and blocked any server from the SAMP server browser with the word "Valhalla" in it. It's exactly this kind of behaviour that initially moved me from SAMP.I think the only reason SAMP has a larger player base than MTA is because it was released first and SAMP players are comfortable there. SAMP may not be able to do everything MTA can but it can clearly do enough to satisfy its thousands of players. Since I switched to MTA about two years ago I haven't looked back but convincing others to do the same isn't easy when their friends are all playing SAMP. I can only talk in terms of RP servers as that is what I played on both mods, in nine out of ten cases SAMP players who join our server are blown away by what we have achieved but the problem remains that the one thing we can't offer that SAMP can is a server with 100+ players, 24/7. The recent MTA releases have shown that there is potential for the player count to increase but I don't think we will ever see the mass exodus from SAMP we hope for.
  8. I posted about this problem a few weeks ago: https://forum.multitheftauto.com/viewtop ... 89&t=24305.
  9. 9 times out of 10 the reason for the Map editor not working is because people extract the resources to MTA San Andreas/mods/deathmatch/resources instead of MTA San Andreas/server/mods/deathmatch/resources.
  10. I had only ever used one MTA community account on this computer.
  11. When I try to log into my MTA community account using the r480 nightly I get the error "Computer already in use". Screenshot Does anyone know what this means and how I can fix it?
