  1. Hello everyone, I haven't been on these boards in ages. I reinstalled gta-vc yesterday, for old times' sake and to check on mta. I used to be a huge fan and i've been around for quite a while (it's been 5 years since my last game of mta). It's kinda sad to see the good ol' mta:vc die out. I've been looking for a server, but the only running one I've found is the one hosting a role-play, through game-monitor. Now, I don't have anything against RPG, but I want to frag someone every once in a while. The server in this thread is down as well, so no hopes for that I guess? what I'm saying is, I'd love to play a game of mta:vc again, if anyone is up for it (and I think plenty of people are up for it) maybe we should get a dedicated server running 24/7, sort of an "official revival-server" for the good old times? It won't be packed every moment, but it would be nice to have 5-10 people playing sometimes. It's good to be back, in a way, but sad to see what's left of mta:vc 0.5 Greetings to all!
  2. I've also been around in the background mainly since the early days of gta3mta0.3b. My favourite time playing mta was in the mtavc 0.3r2-days, when you had to shoot a little to the right to actually hit someone Those were right before the cryptic-bots entered the era and right in the middle of a time with a lot of trainers and other cheats, I still think of it as a real war going on back then. I've seen the mod go big-time and had literally loads of fun playing hours and hours with ofcourse the crashes occuring now and then. Those were also the great server-scripting days with the mIRC-scripts to echo the servers. I want to thank the team very much for putting together a really nice piece of software that gave people a lot of fun and gta a totally new dimension. Kudos to all of you.

  4. A: No Q: Are you drinking beer at this very moment?
  5. Still need people for Belgium/France/Switzerland? If so, count me in.

  7. GTA3:MTA 0.3b, I remember trying five times to get past those damn credits without a crash. I've never been able to really play gta3:mta 0.3b though, never worked like it should.
  8. I think there'll be enough servers with vice as it is now in mta, without mods. As in CS, people will change all the time, and play a variety of mods. I plan on writing some add-ons myself, and I also thought of the complexity customized games can bring, but I'm sure there will be enough 'popular' mods, so that there wil be three or four 'standard' mods, if you know what I mean.
  9. Happy easter I saw the biggest egg in reality was funny.
  10. I have had this feeling for quite a long time, but now I decided to share it with the public. It can't be THAT hard to make spawnpoints customizable (an .ini configured by the server-owner). All you will need to do is change the setting used in the scm for the spawnpoints, by using memory injection. I know this might sound very noobish, but I know it is possible, and that they have thought of implementing it in Blue, but still... Blue isn't there tomorrow, and the issues won't go away. I apologise if I 'hurt' anyone by saying it, that's not my intention. But as a coder, I have experimented with Vice a lot, and I can tell it is possible. However, the limitations of the current core could be an issue, I am not aware of the exact possibilities of the core, neither of the limitations. Please do NOT start flaming to this post, I am just trying to explain how I feel about it, I do know they work hard on MTA, and I respect it, however it is still beta and thus not 'perfect', if anything is ever perfect... You have probably all considered it before, but I think it can be done already... Correct me if I'm wrong. Bye, Trust

    What we do

The client already sends a CRC-checksum to the server, but in the cracked clients, that checksum is either modified, or NOP'ed or whatever they do to crack it. And the superserver would have to be some sort of supermachine because it would be overloaded in no time...
