He could simply set up a FTP account for you, that's pathetic. Do not trust this guy.

It's really nothing special to run copied/stolen scripts. This way your server will surely NOT become popular, you'd rather get into trouble with the authors. What you need to find is someone who knows LUA pretty well. On the other hand those people are rare like diamonds.
-
Are you kidding me? I am here trying to help you and how can I know you're an "ultra pro user"? Good luck finding someone to help you.

What is your OS and MTA version/build? Try the latest nightly build from here: https://nightly.multitheftauto.com/ ("1.3 - Current release version")
-
The maximum coordinates are: 8000 for X,Y,Z. You need to move your whole map.

https://wiki.multitheftauto.com/wiki/SetElementData Please take a closer look at the arguments. (1st one = element, 2nd = key, 3rd value) You need to pass a valid player or account element.
-
The element data is available as long as the element exists. So yes, if the player quits, the data is being deleted.
-
This problem is only caused by firewalls blocking the ports mentioned above. To be on the safe side download the latest nightly from https://nightly.multitheftauto.com! As I already said, turn of your Windows Firewall and check port forwarding in your router. What are you hosting at (Home, Dedicated, VPS, Shared)? I guessed you're hosting it at home.

I'd like to have a tutorial on object-orientated scripting other than this http://www.lua.org/pil/16.html with more examples connected to MTA.
-
Your router or Windows firewall, you must open those ports. (How to do that depends on your router model)

An empty MTA server uses about 120MB of RAM, 60 players need about 400-600MB depending on your gamemode and scripts you are running. You'll probably reach your traffic limit of 500GB very fast with a Counter Strike Source and 100-200 slots MTA server. I highly recommend not to use a VPS for gameservers such as Counter Strike and huge MTA servers. You'll need a dedicated server or shared game-hosting. Take a look at CrankenServers MTA hosting, we offer you best quality for a reasonable price. Greetings -ffs-Sniper CrankedServers staff and leader of |FFS|Gaming

Hello MTA community, as the author of the following tutorial https://forum.multitheftauto.com/viewtopic.php?f=106&t=34979 I noticed that there are many people having problems setting up their own MTA Servers on Debian Squeeze (x86 and x64). As result I've opened this topic offering free help for your Debian issues. So, I am offering free help with: --basic set up of Linux Debian distributions which includes the following services: >updates >monitoring tools (htop, iptraf) >webserver (lighttpd with fast cgi, php) >proftpd (FTP server) >mysql with phpmyadmin >mail service (postfix with sasl, ONLY for php mail) --installation of a 32bit emulator in case you're on a 64 bit system --set up of an empty (default resources) MTA server --set up of a "fast download" HTTP server (A full set up might take up to one hour) What do I need from You: --experienced english skills (so I can understand You) --a VPS or dedicated server using Debian Squeeze (64 and 32bit) --a fresh "minimal" installation (no cPanel or Plesk, please) --full root access via SSH (it's your decision if you trust me or not) --optional: TeamViewer (so you can see what I am actually doing) --skype FAQ: (if you're satisfied you're free to donate) How can I contact You? That's simple, just send me a private message at this forum so we can exchange skype contact details. Please be aware of the fact that I live in the GMT +1 timezone. I am satisfied with this service, how can I return the favor? At first you could simply help me by posting a feed back in that topic if you are pleased with my help. Another step to help me keeping up my service is donating. You are free to choose the amount since this is a free service. Donations can be made by PayPal or PaySafeCard. Is there a snag in it? Surely not, but you should be aware of some important things. I am offering free, private help so this does not have to do anything with the clan I am leading (|FFS|Gaming). I am not responsible for damages caused by unpredictable and predictable mistakes. You are responsible for taking backups before and after helping you, in case something gets broken you can simply initiate a reinstall of the system at your hosting company and upload your backup. You are free to criticize my topic! Greetings -ffs-Sniper

[TUT] How to get the MySQL module working on Debian6.0 64bit
-ffs-Sniper replied to SHC//Sniper's topic in Linux-Server
This tutorial also works for MTA 1.3! -
Looks a bit more like advertising the own clan than something useful to me.
-
Is that a serious question?
-
I wonder he is willing to host a Roleplay server on his PC with a 50Kb/s uplink. @triplesnake He could also have a Windows Server 2008 R2 with a soft- or hardware firewall.

Dear MTA community, the |FFS|Gaming (aka |FFS|Racing) community suffered heavy D®DoS attacks of 200 Mbit/s over 2 months and was barely available. As we moved to a new dedicated server with a 1GBit full duplex link the attacks did not affect the server itself in any way. I did not record any packetloss and the outgoing bandwidth was not affected aswell. (We are using an external http server) The only problem I have to face now are slow download speeds in the public 1.3 MTA server during DDoS attacks causing time outs. The attacks are being made on port 22003 with UDP packets (400-1000 bytes per packet) by using the getStatus exploit of gameservers (Quake3, Urban Terror). Is there any config or method to keep the download speed while being attacked? CSF is already installed. Since he is attacking the 22003 port the MTA server itself must be the problem (no CPU overload, bandwidth fully available, no RAM overload, using HTTP server). Greetings -ffs-Sniper Leader of |FFS|Gaming

You are missing a library called libmysqlclient.so.15 in your ubuntu system. Maybe my tutorial for Debian Squeeze could help you: viewtopic.php?f=106&t=34979 Are you using a 32bit emulator?
-
Your domain is parked.
-
First question: Where are you hosting your server at?
-
Could you please post the logs directly after starting your MTA server? Most likely the module is not loading. I would also like to know your system (Debian? Squeeze? 64bit?)
-
What are your system specs? What are you already hosting on there?
-
Sure, there are hundreds of hosting solutions. Furthermore there are extreme disparities in price, hardware and network connections. It would be also good to know what your maximum budget is and where you would like it to be hosted (German, France, US, bulletproof ). Compared to a VPS which is oversold in most cases it is surely faster and there should not be any lag on a dedicated server. Please, tell me your maximum budget first, then I will find you an option (from my personal experience).
