  1. im a noob scripter so i dont know what to do.. and i searched for getoriginalhandling and setvehiclehandling on the wiki but i cant find it.
  2. well, i got this vehicle respawner from the mta resources website ( https://community.multitheftauto.com/index.php?p= ... ils&id=699 ) and im running a freeroam server, so when a player creates a vehicle and then the vehicle they created blows up. The vehicle they just created respawns at the creation point. How would i make it so when they create a vehicle and it blows up the vehicle gets removed. Also, whenever a player modifies the handling of a pre spawned vehicle on the map and then it explodes the vehicle stays exactly the same way the player left it last. How do i make it so the modded handling line of the vehicle doesnt still save even after the vehicle has exploded? i want it so the handling line goes back to default right after the vehicle has exploded but i honestly have no idea how to do this.
  3. oh wow i was just one line off... but now the problem is that when they respawn its the random skin then seconds later its cj again. i think somewhere in the freeroam script its making the player spawn as cj, and so the scripts are colliding with eachother edit: its not freeroam... now i dont know whats the problem..... well heres my whole spawning script function spawnOnLogin (prevA, curA, autoLogin) outputChatBox ("Welcome to Veteran Stunt Server!", source, 255, 0, 0, false) spawnPlayer (source, 1993.8115234375, -2446.26171875, 13.546875, 0.00274658203125, math.random (0,288), 0, 0, spawnTeam) -- spawns player with random skin fadeCamera (source, true) setCameraTarget (source, source) end addEventHandler("onPlayerLogin", getRootElement(), spawnOnLogin) function onPlayerSpawn ( ) spawnPlayer (source, 1993.8115234375, -2446.26171875, 13.546875, 0.00274658203125, math.random (0,288), 0, 0, spawnTeam) -- spawns player with random skin end addEventHandler("onPlayerWasted",root,onPlayerSpawn)
  4. i got it to spawn you with a random skin when you login but now i cant figure out how to make it so when you die and respawn you get a random skin.. its always just cj when you respawn. heres what i got.... (btw im a noob at scripting) function onPlayerSpawn ( ) spawnPlayer (source, 1993.8115234375, -2446.26171875, 13.546875, 0.00274658203125, math.random (0,288), 0, 0, spawnTeam) -- spawns player with random skin end
  5. you mean my computer fan? then yes, ive even got a extra fan under my laptop. i noticed it also does this alot when entering servers and spawning in some areas of the map. When ever its about to alt tab i notice that mta pauses for a moment then alt tabs... Oh and sometimes it even closes the whole mta also ive noticed that when you first open up admin panel on your server when you login the game pauses for about 3 seconds then it opens up admin panel, is this normal or should it open right away?
  6. I think its fixed, the report i sent in to the bugs area was closed and said it was fixed. Now im just trying the new nightly to see if the problem is still there. edit: i dont think the shapes are happening anymore but ive noticed that sometimes the chat box gets glitched and some of the letters disappear edit 2: Sometimes when im playing the game alt tabs by itself. especially on the map editor. really annoying when you want to make a map.
  7. already tried that and it didnt work.
  8. my video drivers are up to date. Its really wierd how ive never had this problem before on the old mta... Can someone please help? I cant afford a new computer, i just lost my house so we are all on a very tight budget.
  9. i cant run enb series. Whenever i try to run mta or gta sa the game doesnt even open up.
  10. hmm no ill try it now. edit: i ran it and nothing happened.... What am i suppose to do now? edit 2: this is getting really annoying the shapes wont go away, and so much lag
  11. umm well last night before i went to bed it was doing that shapes thing again even when i got the nightly, but right now there was some update so i updated and well the shapes arent happening but im still getting that fps lag... Ill reply back to this topic if the shapes occur. edit: nvm the shapes are still happening. oh and yes i do have the latest direct x. the latest one thats available to windows xp.
  12. I think they are all installed now. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 10/4/2011, 17:25:20 Machine name: COMPUTER-426FB4 Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.101209-1647) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard System Model: HP Pavilion dv2000 (GA478UA#ABA) BIOS: Ver 1.00PARTTBLh Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo CPU T2450 @ 2.00GHz (2 CPUs) Memory: 1014MB RAM Page File: 336MB used, 3089MB available Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.5512 32bit Unicode ------------ DxDiag Notes ------------ DirectX Files Tab: No problems found. 14. Im lagging all of sudden pretty bad, for some reason just yesterday and the other day the new mta was running good and i could see the performence increase but now its just like a slideshow.... i went from 28fps to 13fps in most servers and theres another problem, whenever i get on mta almost all the time theres wierd colorful shapes all over my screen flashing at me. Its enough to probably cause a siezure..... and well these shapes also cause mooore lag.. heres a pic of the shapes Oh and this wasnt like this before. It was fine on the previous mta. (although there was still the lag but no shapes) Just a thought here, you know Mta, should just really focus more on its performance instead of its features. Its really stupid how you need a somewhat good and new computer to run mta smoothly on a game thats like 7 years old. You should really just be getting the same exact amount of fps you get when playing gta sa by itself. Man i really the mta team really does something about the fps.
  15. well i got the module loaded but i dont know about the mysql server.. heres the exact error i get when i try to run the gamemode. ERROR: call: Failed, the resource sql isnt running [string "?"] startup of resource roleplay-script canceled by script stopping roleplay-script stopping sqlitebrowser this is what im trying to get working https://community.multitheftauto.com/ind ... anddescr=1 nvm forget this gamemode... it seems too complicated...
  16. nah im actually its this other one that just came put. i want to try it but first i need to figure out how to setup this mysql thing.. ok so what i did was i download paradise and took the sql resource and put it into my resources folder... so the error i get now that its saying mysql isnt running...
  17. ah i figured... but i wasnt too sure.... now how do i make or get a sql resource?
  18. im trying to run this server that uses my sql but i come up with this error in the console. ERROR: exports: Call to non-existing resource (sql) [string "?"] ERROR: ?:0: attempt to index field 'sql' (a nil value) im not sure how to fix this so can someone help me please. well i already installed the module and i installed the mysql community server thing.... now i dont know what else to do...
  19. @Benox.exe yea thats kinda where i was going when i thought about maybe samp and mta combining... samp is pretty much where everyone is, so thats where most of the servers are. so if samp were to combine with mta more servers will start poping up, and we would see some more variety. and once theres a lot of people we probably might see more features too because of the amount of people involved. maybe even a more stable mta?
  20. i find it so wierd that mta got 4th place in the mod of the year for 2010 on moddb... i would think samp wouldve blown mta away since pretty much almost the whole gta communtity plays samp instead of mta. maybe if mta was advertised more, and posted across many websites, we will start seeing more players. you know what i kinda wanna see? i wanna see mta and samp combine together...
  21. yea... well i was planning on adding more kill sounds for different body parts... but i think ill hold off for now on my server.... it gets pretty time consuming...
  22. use zombie script ahh oh yea your right!!! thanks... now i dont have to keep asking people haha.. edit: nvm it doesnt work on the zombies...
  23. ah ok.... well the only thing left to do now is test it. to know for sure if it works... looks like ill have to wait awhile for someone to join..
