hey, in order to change any controls in mtasa, or any other settings. you have to start up san andreas in single player (just run your normal gta san andreas). and configure your controls there. whatever you configure there will be used in mtasa. just make sure your san andreas user files directory (located in the my documents folder in your user account in winnt, 2k, XP) is NOT read only. to put it briefly, configure all yo stuff in regular gta san andreas, and as long as gta san andreas can save settings to yo san andreas users folder like it usually does. you should have no problems with configuring controls.

PROBLEM FIXED!!!!!!! I managed to fix this issue the other day, so i thought i would post my solution just in case anyone else has this problem in the future. Yesterday, I reinstalled gta san andreas thinking this would fix my problem. so after i reinstalled, i went into single player, reconfigured my controls, and installed mtasa and played it. realizing that my problem was still not fixed. i went back into san andreas single player and tried again, after reconfiguring controls. I started a new game, played a couple of missions, flew around in a hydra a bit, and my new settings worked just fine. then i decided to save my progress. I tried rewriting another save game, but it gave me an error. thinking the revious save game was corrupt, i loaded it. it loaded perfectly!!! then I realized, well, i can load saved games, but not save to them. i also realized that my saved games were from a previous install of san andreas on another computer. and i had copied the user files folder over to my computer. so i right-clicked on the san andreas users files folder in my documents. and saw that it had read-only attribute enabled. so i disabled this. and BAM. problem solved!!!!!!! this not only fixed my controller problem. but this fixed my pressinf f2and game crashes issue, and also fixed the issue i was having with loading my own music into san andreas, when i would try to, it wouldn't detect it. this little thing solved three annoying problems. so if you are having any configuration problems of any kind, try doing this!!

hey, i have looked all over mta's forums for a solution for this peoblem, and can't seem to find one, so i will post here. my problem is that before i installed or even played mtasa, my controls were always configured so that i use a playstation 2 controller to drive and do everything else, but i use my mouse to do the shooting. now when I play mtasa and i have to fire weapons at someone (such as in a hydra battle) i can't. on my controller, one button is configured for primary fire, and for secondary fire, i have to use the mouse. as we all know, mose of the aircraft in san andreas that fire require usage of secondary fire just to shoot missiles out of the hydra, or fire the guns on the rustler, of fire guns out of the rc baron. the point is that when i fly around in a hydra, such as in "airport dogfight", i have to use my mouse to fire, and i can't fly with keyboard and mouse very well at all. it is very annoying to have to switch between the two constantly. i have tried starting san andreas up in single player, and going into controller config and configuring it from there. when i do so, is saves, and i can go in single player and it will work. now when i exit and go into mtasa, my controls are like they were before, and when i start gta sa single player up again, and go into control configuration, the buttons are set to what they were set at before. i have tried uninstalling mtasa, configuring controls in single player, then reinstalling mtasa. but this doesn't seem to work either. plz help me, it sucks flying around without even being able to fight back.

I actually had a similar idea the other day, except it has more to it: I was thinking about a need for speed: underground type thing, where you start out with so much money, then you get to buy your car, you can earn additional money from street races, and you can use the money to fix your car (if your car got damaged in a race, you would have to pay to repair it, and if you totaled it, you would get 50% of what the car was worth back (kinda like an insurance policy, you could even make it optional and make insurance users pay a certain amount of money for it before the race). If you total your car, you would get all of your parts auto matically put into your next car you buy (no matter rather you had insurance or not, you would always get your engine upgrades back). Along with insurance and repairs, you could also use money for upgrades and stuff out of the mod shop, like you could have engine upgrades, which would make your car faster by modifing your handling.conf file, and you could do stuff that would reduce the weight of your car (which really modifies the handling.conf file). basically the performance upgrades to your car (such as better tires, or new engine) would modify your handling.conf file. for the rest of the upgrades, you could use the game,s built in mod shop, such as transfender or wheel arc angles. you could also implement that neon light mod i heard about the other day. (and yes, it would allow you to race in different tiers depending on how powerful your car is. hell, you could have the option of racing for money, or pink slips (other person's car). I do realize that the first versions of blue will not support modifying the handling.conf file, and i do realize that it will be difficult to allow modifying it while not allowing people to modify it themselves at the same time. which is why i suggest it as a good idea I think a street racing modification would be fun and would be better than need for speed because it could support more people and would cound make your own tracks. Oh, and you could also sell your car to other players, hell, you could have an auctioning system so players could place their bids on someone's car.

the only problem i have been having with my teamspeak server is because everyone doesn't want hosting from it because they think the advertising thing is a scam, come on, all you have to put is teamspeak server hosted by terranovastudios.com along with the ts server ip on yo website or mta server. I mean, for a free ts server, that is pretty simple, this website that provides my server is a starting out webhosting company. they are using me to advertise, but at least i get a teamspeak server!!!!! -

personally, i think teamspeak is easier to administrate, and besides, i have lots of bandwidth, so everyone can turn on max sound quality -
hello, I recently started a 50 person teamspeak server for the purpose of providing teamspeak for all mta, sa/vc-mp, and gtat servers. and any other gta multiplayer clients I forgot. I have this server, however it requires advirtising of www.terranovastudios.com , who are the people that are providing me this teamspeak server for free. they only ask in return that i advirtise for them. however, i only host for 3 gtat san andreas servers and i don't have many people advirtising. and the people at www.terranovastudios.com are getting really inpatient with me and are ready to pull the plug on my ts server. in order to save the server: I am asking that anyone that has an mta server and wants a TeamSpeak server to go along with it, please come foward and i will gladly host for you for free, i only ask that you advertise www.terranovastudios.com on your mta server and on any clan websites or other mta-related websites you have. thanks, Scott Miles (a.k.a IPCONFIG) Email:[email protected] AIM:IPCONFIG18 MSN:[email protected]

how about a player drives taxis around, you can just spawn as a taxi driver, which will make you spawn at a taxi depot with taxi's parked at the depot, and you dressed like a taxi driver (however they dress), you can press the button you normally press to start a taxi mission in single player (or make taxi mission start as soon as you get in a taxi), and go around and pick up players and make $$money$$,

do you all read what i write, i said that the hoes would be computer controlled characters that would be synced by all players, so the hoes would get no money at all, some of the money would not go to the pimp and would to the hoe, money you could get back if you kill the hoe
-
first of all, there is a limit to how high you can go in san andreas, just like vice city, but the limit is much higher in san andreas, and if he does decide to chicken out, the admin can kick him
-
i thought about that, and i realized three things: 1. the pimp will be marked on the map in a way that people can find him and commands can be used to find him, such as: "!loc pimp" 2. there is no place the pimp can hide, and unless he has a really fast plane, such as a learjet or a hydra, then he will be easy to kill. (even if he has a fast plane, rocket launchers can work on that) 3. all the other players are going to be determined to find the pimp due to all the money and will find him at all costs
-
another thing that you could add on to this is the ability for any player in the game to give money to another player
-
i thought of a great idea for mta san andreas as I was playing pimping missions for gta san andreas single player. what you could do is have a game mode called pimping. where all health icons disappear, and hoes controlled by ai's (not players) woll walk the streets and you can pick one up and pay her for sex, have sex with the hoe, and get full health. and the money goes to whatever player in the game is the pimp. and whoever kills the pimp becomes the pimp and gets all the money coming from the hoes when people have sex with them.

i just got struck with a great idea, i don't know if this can be done or not (probably not), but it would be cool if in the stadium (stadiums for san andreas) the server admin could control whan is in the stadium, i mean that the server admin could control if it is bloodring, dirtring, or hotring, that way if a bunch of people want to race, demo derby, or do stunts, they could do it with ease in the stadium.
