Jedi Academy is a class game.

Wow, I found the keys to make the thrusters aim forward on the Hydra. When I get chased by the army Hydra, I can easily get on it's tail, and have it locked on to, it goes from green to red, and then I press the missile button... this doesn't work... why? I just end up chasing for a bit before getting bored.

I think I might just try learning C++ how hard can it be? I would want an add-on that allowed for some different admin commands. Fore example, something like a telemarker that could store up to 3 points or something, just type it as you're walking around /telemarker 2 or something then /tele playername marker2 or the like. It'd be really useful if for example you had the whole map open, and you were using a specific area at that time, but still moving around. So you could make sure everyone's in the same area. I dunno, like different stunts, if the spawn location wasn't where you wanted it you could teleport them to where you made the marker, then spawn them a bike or something And if people get out of line, sometimes kicking them isn't good enough. If you could 'empower' yourself and get all guns, even just briefly while you get rid of such a person, that would be awesome. That's what I'd do if I knew how to program in C++, but some of it might be hard/unreasonable.

Don't really see how you pwned me in that bunch of text, but also to tell you... you have an IsJoking and a JustJoking... think that one over. And, yes it was just a joke.

I searched for this and couldn't find anything useful. I was just wondering whether you'll have MTAMA in Blue. It seems alot easier to grasp the concept of than other scripting. After looking at it for a couple of minutes I already understand the basic functions and such. It seems like it would be quite easy to get working, so I thought I'd ask three questions. 1. Do you think MTAMA will be in Blue? 2. Do you type these commands in the game, or do you have to go out of the game to do it? 3. Can you use MTAMA to control a LAN server aswell?

Yeah, but you couldn't reserve the transportation market for just one group of people. That would be moving horribly towards a planned economy

So what you're really saying is that you play the GTA series to escape your sad, pathetic life? Sorry, I had to.

I dunno, I think I'd probably just tell them to go play a game designed for online gambling

Should free-aiming for drivers be allowed in MTA:SA?
robbiemcm replied to a topic in General discussion
It would be nice if you had the option to do this because what about those on servers where there are 2 or 3 people (or LAN). It'd be nice to be able to be on a bike and just drive towards the other person on the server free-aiming. But if it's a particularly hard thing to do then the MTA team shouldn't worry about it and let someone make a mod if they desperately require it, I'm still happy to do it standard. Also I don't really think drivers of cars should do it... that to me just seems a little unreasonable. Driving a car at speed, watching where you're driving and shooting the uzi wherever you want, even backwards whilst doing this. Not forgetting technically you'd have to be leaning out the window... seems a tad unrealistic. -
interesting...

I'd still rather play GTA:SA single player than any other multiplayer game, and I will still play single player even once MTA:SA comes out. Single player will never die, it presents an entirely different challenge.

Incredible work guys, took you just a week. I trust you will do an awesome job with this. Maybe this will shut up all the idiots for a bit.

Yeah, can someone actually tell me how many other games people have been converted to work online? I think that'd be quite interesting. And a 3D game as large as the GTA series, do you think that's been done before?

I think the best idea I've heard so far is having a certain area where the cars spawn and such and then having an option to leave the map open or limit the playing area aswell. For example if you're finding eachother and trying to shoot eachother, you'll want it restricted. If you're having a big car race or something, you could leave it open. I also like my idea up the top of this page if you only had two people, but I'm still not even sure if that would be possible.

This may be a little off topic, but how do I fly the hydra. I'm using a laptop so I have no numpad, '2' on the horizontal number section above the letters is landing gear. How do I rotate the thrusters?
-
Maybe there could be a simple file to edit that could allow you to have vehicles spawning like on single player gta, but it yeah.. it requires you do actually edit one of the files. This way people without the propper knowledge of whether this will make the server crash won't just be changing it in the server settings. Could the map hold enough cars for say 2 people just running around (that's what I plan to do on LAN, so it would be great if it did work!).
-
Well, whatever happens I'm sure the MTA team will do a good job and not lock everything away completely
-
The issue here is not the latency or lag, it doesn't matter whether you're on a LAN or the internet, the number of cars that can be placed on the map is limited. Even on one island there might be too much space to have a car within an easy running distance of anywhere. I thought this problem was solved by generating the cars when you get close to them, that's why if you go too far away from you car it disappears?
-
If it is cut up into little chunks by the MTA team, a mod should be made to get you the full map, because that would probably work fine on LAN would it not? I wouldn't want to be restricted to a tiny area whilst playing over the network.
-
And somehting else I've been thinking about. MTA is more like GTA but only between a few players. Peds and cops can't really be incorporated in to the game because of, I would assume, the amount of data that would have to be sent through, causing extreme lags and a lot of bandwith. But if you were to play this game across LAN, because it is so fast would it not be possible to have it like standard GTA? (Obviously without missions and such)
-
Ahhh, it would mainly be just 2 vehicles however, not mass spawning. Also I plan to play on the San Anreas MTA built on Blue, when it comes out. So it'd be cool to spawn helicopters and have helicopter wars or something like that? So would this definitely be available only as an addon or could Blue have this built in?
-
I couldn't see anything around here about this, so I'll just ask anyway. If I'm being stupid you can abusively dismiss me as you like. Reading over what MTA is like for vice, it seems quite clear it would stop you from playing with cheats, and fair enough. But if you were playing on LAN, and you can trust your friends... sometimes it'd be good to be able to spawn the vehicles you like or get the weapons you like. Turn it on and off with admin? Or even if admin could administer this? It could be implemented already, but as I've said... I hav't read anything about it here, so sorry if it's already in MTA.
