here's the deal, mta 0.2 is an old version it doesnt support ase, the server you saw was mta 0.3 which isn't released yet the servers u saw were testing servers, so stay tuned for updates

why not? desert combat (a mod for battlefield 1942) set up a donation thingy via paypal on their site, so why can't you?

there is no such thing as no competition, when you have 2 or 3 teams working on a multiplayer mod for the same game, they will need a community, meaning people will have to chose what to play and obviously they will play whats best, so even if it is only a friendly competition its always a competition

mta netcode is as good as it is now (from what i have heard) besides it will delya 0.3b for like a month or 2 if not more for maybe nothing

fileplanet? slow? i usually download @ 100k per sec from there (but those lines are anoying )

ps2 games can't have dvd quality ps2 cpu is something like a pentium3 and its graphical card is something like geforce2 or so i read, everything there moves smooth becuase all of the games there got reduced gfx quality
