Guest
Whenever I start vice city from the mta window, a blue screen appears and my pc makes this rattling sound. When rebooting it a message appears that windows has recovered from a serious error. In other words my pc crashes really hard. This is not like the other topics where vc wont start, because they get send back to windows after crashing. What can I do to stop my PC from crashing when starting mta 0.5? Windows-version: Windows XP, 5.01.2600, Home Edition (version 2002), Service Pack 2 PC: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2,40 GHz, 512 MB ram. Videocard: ATI 9800 pro DirectX: 9.0a Link to comment
orappa
I get that rattling sound too when I get blue screens. I think it's the hard disk grinding to a halt. I noticed that you have an ATI graphics card. There is a problem that causes blue screens with older sets of ATI drivers. Try updating to the latest versions and see if it makes a difference. Guest
I had not read your reply, but that is exactly what i did to solve it. I upgraded to the latest ati and directX drivers and now it works. Link to comment
