Crashing while loading map.

Captain Cody

Question

I'm working on converting UNITED for heretrics, everything seams to be just fine; but one of the testers are having an issue loading the map (That I've never seen before)

On join all the models are loaded (Which there's no problem with) when they are actually replaced he gets alot of lag, then finally crashes with that error.

Also this is the error that MTA outputs -

The one getting this error has 10GB of ram, and is using the same version of MTA as me.

(MTA is working just fine for me, it being nightly shouldn't be the issue, my streamer depends on some of the new features from nightly)

I have 6GB and I have no problems

Any help would be appreciated, this is the first time ever I've seen this problem, and stuff similar is happening to multiple people. I seam to be the only one able to play correctly.

Also, here's an error another one is getting

Module = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\KERNELBASE.dll
Code = 0xE06D7363
Offset = 0x000BDB18

EAX=0177F6C0  EBX=0177F7D4  ECX=00000003  EDX=00000000  ESI=6203C7FC

The crash is indeed caused by getting out of memory (while allocating memory for a collision model in this case).

32-bit processes are only able to use 2GB memory effectively. You could try loading the models not all at once or if that doesn't work, implement a model streamer (e.g. calling engineImportModel when entering the zone where it is used).

Here's the actual error displayed on disconnect. This error can sometimes be a bit vague, but it looks like a timeout based on those logs. I see a lot of files your friend has that are modified too. Can't guarantee they aren't at fault.

Well all three people who tested it crashed out while loading the map, I knew it had something to do a with timing out, but couldn't figure out what was causing it since I myself run into none of the same issues.

But after I found out that loading the map actually crashed a few peoples computers (Due to the shear amount of objects needing to be loaded) I just said the heck with it, and switched over to vice city instead of UNITED, MTA cannot handle it what so ever.

I'd be willing to test it. Feel free to hit me up on Steam or the MTA IRC irc.mtasa.com #mta
