v0.5 not running on Windows Server 2003

to the devs: you STILL didn't realize that the new v0.5 client doesn't run on windows server 2003 eh. (crap this statement if i should get corrected)

the only thing that works is the welcome form of the client. when i press ok

the client runs but doesn't show anything, no window at all.

restarts and several reinstalls don't help.

(i guess some ocx controll doesn't get registered properly.)

MTA is written in C++ it doesn't use OCX controls. I'll pass this msg on to the devs

For your information: I'm running Windows 2003 Web Server Edition (5.2) as primary operating system and it's working fine, just like all my other games and programs (except virus scanner).

everything just runs fine on my system (and also such things that normally won't install on server) but only this new version v0.5 of the mta client doesn't SHOW anything. (the process is runing.)

EDIT: problem just solved. i have NEVER seen an app that won't run without access to the internet AT ALL. (even home phoning apps will run...)

The OCX is for the standalone server config tool. It is written in VB.

MTA requires an active internet connection at this moment. It needs to download the welcome msg. Due to an error in the code the client errors out when it can not connect to our server. See known issues for temporary fixes.

That sure is an expensive operating system to have running on your home PC... although i am sure you guys paid for it and didn't *cough* borrow *cough* it lol
