fetchRemote and PHP

I've been thinking of using 'fetchRemote' for some resources, however, I thought of a scenario where this could be problematic, for example, if an user gets some details of the connection (URL) and wished, maliciously, make multiple and constant connections and requests, Would this be a problem? What should I do about it?

There is a possibilty that somebody hacks your forum account and misuses it. That is only possible to misuse your account if he knows the password, right? So if the client does not know the URL then he can't do anything.
