adam120
Well I wanted to know how i would go about playing mta vc through a lan with 2 comps any ideas? Link to comment
Scorp
Thats easy enough Just dl the server and client, run the server on one machine and join with the client on that machine. Then just use the client on other comps and join to the server's ip. Alternativly you could connect the admins as well, they work great for larger LAN parties btw Link to comment
adam120
errm im not that good at neworking lol both comps have the net but there on the same i.p would that work trying to host a game like that.Whats the server and client sorry lol Link to comment
orappa
Server is the host machine. Client is the machine that connects to it. When you say they both have the same IP, you must be talking about the external IP. They also have internal IPs within the LAN. To find out the internal IP of each machine, go to Start > Run and type cmd into the box and press enter. Now type ipconfig and press enter. You will then see some details about your network. The local IP address is listed under the IP Address field. Decide which machine is going to be the host and run the MTA server program on that machine. Note its IP address (you might want to write it down). Now run the MTA client (the icon on your desktop) on the client PC and type the other machine's IP address into the box. If you want to play on the host machine as well, run the MTA client on the host machine and type localhost instead of an IP. Link to comment
