MTA Modding

I shudder to think how much this has been asked but here goes nothing...

I'm pretty good with PC's but I'm new to MTA. I was wondering what most/all mods are made in etc, how to make them and so forth - I realise some are in CPP and variations of C but the most I know is VB... I'm looking to start CPP soon anyway so just a heads up! By the way is it possible to develop mods for servers with Visual Basic ?

Thanks in advance

Well the mods in this section are MTA:mA and MTA:SG which are made in mIRC and PHP, but I think the mods you are talking about would be the mods for blue, and they will be in C++.

Yeah, I'm learning C++ so by the time MTA:Blue is released I should be fairly able to start writing some very basic scripts for servers.... On the current server is it not possible to write Add-Ons in C++ *Sorry if this is in the wrong forum and has gone of topic  *

Thanks in advance

If that was a question, then no, it is not possible to write addons at the moment, but you can do it with Blue

We'd like to be able to support Visual Basic as many people know it and its easy to learn, the problem is that VB can't create "real" dlls, only ActiveX dlls. I think it'd be possible to write an addon that could act as an interface between blue and a Visual Basic ActiveX dll though.
