What's better for hosting a mtasa-server, Debian or Ubuntu?

As far as i know it's the same.

Do not yield your back to your enemy, might feel something strange in your ass.

Two things are infinite the universe and human stupidity and i'm not sure about the universe.

It's not the same. Personally I would choose Debian 7. It's very simple and functional OS. Also all servers, in my opinion, works much smoother than Ubuntu. But those are only my thoughts.

If you don't need GUI to work, just the console then go for Debian otherwise Ubuntu.

Remember don't go for x64 bit, it's hard to get modules ;)

Wrong. In such a case, you can run the 32bit server on 64bit Linux just fine.

I am only telling this for Ubuntu, because I got UBUNTU X64 latest and the 32bit libraries were gone. So i had to get x64 server.

Ubuntu server after installation:    ~130MB RAM usage
Debian after installation:            ~29MB RAM usage

Easy choice if your server has a low amount of RAM. Also, let's not forget that Ubuntu is based on Debian which is the reason why Debian is more light weight in general. Ubuntu may be a little more user friendly however.
