MTA SERVER ISSUES!!! HELP!!!!

hello i need help with the mta server. the thing is when i try to open the server it closes off without any messages

but in the log i read this

- MTAServer log opened -
MTA Server for MTA 0.4.1

ERROR: Unable to bind to the socket.
SERVER: unable to start the server.
- MTAServer log closed -

could anyone help me?

This usually happens when you have placed a wrong ip in the mtaserver.conf, do run>cmd>ipconfig, and put the ip you see there in the config file.

do i actually insert my local ip and not my outgoing ip

yes you insert internal ip in the config file, but others still connect with your external ip.

I suggest you test this with some of your online buddies

and if your running a LAN network other people on the network use the local ip of course.

Don't you only need that if you have more than one network adapter (like a hosting company would)? If you only have one, just comment the line out by putting a "#" in front of it.
