Face2Face Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 After installing windows xp sp2 gta-vc wont run i just get the spinning disc i tryed system restore and now it works again is anyone else having the same problem and if so can anyone fix it!
mtanoob Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 definitely gta-vc & not just mta?, if its just mta, may be a problem with the firewall or security center. I have both off & have no problems with vc or mta on sp2 here.

eAi Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 SP2 works fine with MTA/VC. Try deleting the .set file in your vice city saved games folder (in your "my documents" folder). eAi

orappa Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 If your system's fine, then SP2 will be fine. I know that some people had problems with SP2 because they had spyware on their system beforehand, so you could try cleaning it up and then installing SP2.

Face2Face Posted September 23, 2004 Author Posted September 23, 2004 your cd probably has something wrong with it i dont think so im running the game from image i tried uninstalling the game instailling from my original cds but still i get the spinning disc i tryed a google search and it seems im not the only one with the problem and still it only happen when i installed sp2 if i do a system restore back to sp1 i dont have any problems

Brophy Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 only ever problem ive had with vc / mta is when i upgraded my graphics card, a delete of the gta-vc.set file fixed my problem, sp2 hasnt effected my system in anyways in performance or how games run
Guest Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 I'm not having any problems with sp2, but i did notice that the new security in windows blocks lots of programs that have something to do with the internet, and asks you if you want to keep it blocked. are you sure you didnt get any of that messages?
