Slay3r Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Its been a while since i played MTA:VC but i just reinstalled MTA:VC and if i enter a server IP manualy i just get disconnected then it says waiting 5 seconds etc also i cant get anythin to show up in ASE. Do i need open ports to be able to play MTA now as well as host ??
Dgtadude Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 I use a router and i can play fine without having to foward any port . ASE works fine also .. Only hosting requires to foward port (that i know) You might be getting old servers from ASE ... since u said it does not refresh the list

Slay3r Posted September 8, 2004 Author Posted September 8, 2004 Nope, still wont work. ASE still wont brows and cant connect manualy. If i remember right didnt MTA add a new menu into the GTA menu, as i dont see that in this release etc lol

Dgtadude Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 I was checking out a old pc i have here . and it had a VERy VERY old version of ASE installed with autoupdates off . (i used this pc wwhen mta was first released) , and it looks like it cant connect to the ASE server .. Ase might have updated their servers or sumthin .. Try reinstalling a newer version of ASE .. might help ..

Anyway i still cant connect to any games though, i just get. Connecting... Disconnected: Connection timed out. (Delay = 5 sec) Auto Reconnect in 5 Secs, Please Wait Connecting... etc etc lol
Dgtadude Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 What port is the server ur trying to connect to uses? something else on ur pc might be using that port . and about the menu . yes mta does change the gtavc menu while its in use . BUT it will only appear on the menu if u click "start game" from the client . If u just go directly to the Startmenu gtavc shortcut . mta will not work
