Dgtadude Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 Blue or anyother program/mod cant do that .. simply go to ur router menu . and foward the port ..
orappa Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 Ooh... I forgot to say. I found a site that gives details on that kind of thing for practically any router: http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm
<547>montana Posted September 5, 2004 Author Posted September 5, 2004 thnx i hope this site works jes about to try it.... and i did try to forward it but i have no experience so i quit after fuckin around with it
TempEcho Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 please , dont try to use that chat / SMS language here. It sucks , no offence. If you dont know how to forward a router , I dont think you should try run a server...
<547>montana Posted September 5, 2004 Author Posted September 5, 2004 its my choice and as long as it works im fine with it unless you have sumthin helpful beside dont do it then i dont want to hear it. i will NEVER be able to do it if i dont learn at some point
TempEcho Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 okay , good luck with your router. There should be a menu named NAT config , Port Forwarding or Virtual Server , or something like that. Try those. to find out you local IP , try using ipconfig... Mr.Xanni
<547>montana Posted September 5, 2004 Author Posted September 5, 2004 no i got to the place where to do it but i put in the wrong numbers it was virtual server or sumthin
TempEcho Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 try putting in 192.168.2.100 , or 192.168.2.101 , it allways works for me
orappa Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 Just read the link I posted above. That'll be specific to your router.

<547>montana Posted September 5, 2004 Author Posted September 5, 2004 it was sumthin with WHICH ports i want to forward is the prob i didnt know what to put in
orappa Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 2003 is the default port. 4003 is the default port for admin functions (if you plan to use them).
TempEcho Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 oh!!!! Just look at the ASE , you could be able to tell what ports most servers use. You can change the port your server runs on ,too. Mr.Xanni
<547>montana Posted September 5, 2004 Author Posted September 5, 2004 i still need to forward ports it sez i need a static ip on the site
orappa Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 i still need to forward ports it sez i need a static ip on the site Yep, you forward it to your LAN IP. To find this out, go to Start > Run and type cmd. When the command dialog comes up, type ipconfig. Your IP will be listed under "IP Address" (obviously).
TempEcho Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 yeah , it isnt realy smart to have a changing server IP. But dynamic IP is allright as long as you keep the server running without downtime
<547>montana Posted September 5, 2004 Author Posted September 5, 2004 do i need to do this for ALL comps?
orappa Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 do i need to do this for ALL comps? No, just the one that's hosting the server.
