Guest
lo all just about to install MTA:VC, and play for the first time online (have completed all GTA3 / VC on ps2) & have seen MTA:VC in action. before i do play i have a few questions on the community - as i have previous online gaming experience in FPS / RTS scenes, i am a little concerned with joining the MTA:VC scene. 1 - Cheats - is there a anti cheat system? i.e software that detects cheats? 2 - False Cheat accusation - seems to be alot of accusation and bannings, especially if someone new or non-clanned, goes into a clan server and owns them 3 - Organised ladders? 4 - Whats the lag like? got ADSL UK. 5 - I want to start a biker gang, can this be done - as in are all the bikes available online? Pretty much it - but im mainly concerned with the cheat aspect of the game, both real and false Question 2 is raised due to the fact, i was watching my mate play this (first time ive seen the game in action) - and although he dosent play in a clan/gang - he is a good player (not just in MTA, but plays for one of the best FPS clans in UK/Europe and has won a fair bit of money in lan events) problem was, he went into a clans server (forget the name) and basically dominated them - they started accusing him of cheating and kicked him form the server. is this usual practice?? - i ask, as the bunch of lads ive put together to start my gang up, are just going into play for a laugh to begin with- get to know the game for a bit, before hitting the ladders / tournaments. and we dont want to be accused of BS because we are 'clanless' and beating a clan 'so to speak'. other than that - hope its fun g/l all - hope to see you all in action PS plz recommend friendly / fun and competitive public servers ty Link to comment
OpiuM.
well, there is a anti-cheat system, tho, [too much truth] (just the truth, dun edit ) also, the cheaters seem to be dying off..... most have gone to other things as far as i can tell, as for cheating accusations.... well....never goto the UA server i know the feeling, i LOVE SOFII, and of course when i own, im aimbotting, and/or wallhacking . there it is. Trust
1-cheats: there are cheats, yes, but the team is doing a lot to prevent them, and the number of cheaters is neglectable when you pick the right server to play on (those with scripts and an admin that is active). 2-False cheat accusation: it is not always easy to tell if someone is cheating, but there are lots of n00bs accusing everyone who kills them of cheating. 3-Organised ladders: for MTA:VC, you can check http://www.mta-euleague.com and for gta3:mta, check the Turf War's website or the topic. 4-Lag: lag is reduced very much, and most laggers lag because of a slow processor, the netcode is fine, really. 5-Biker: Yes it is possible, there are bikes. I hope you enjoy playing MTA, be nice to the community, and DON'T CHEAT Link to comment
orappa
There are anti-cheat measures in place, but that is no substitute for a good admin, which is what most people look for in a server. Link to comment
HeAD.ULK
he went into a clans server (forget the name) and basically dominated them - they started accusing him of cheating and kicked him form the server.is this usual practice?? yeah, for UA clan it sure is Link to comment
Snowman
I'd just make a backup of your clean Vice City system folder if I were you, so if you use mods offline you can quickly clean your system folder up for online. Link to comment
