Guest Posted August 23, 2004 Share Posted August 23, 2004 Hello, i install gta vice city and installed a few custom car models. Then i remember about mta so i thought i would give it a try. I installed everything like in the step by step guide but when i try to connect to a server and press start game it says it failed on my handling.cfg and that to reinstall mta or vc because some of the files have been modified. Am i getting this error because of my custom car models?. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Link to comment
NosGoth Posted August 23, 2004 Share Posted August 23, 2004 You are getting an error, because some of your cars (or all off 'm I don't know that ofcourse) are moddefied in speed and handling and thus go much faster. This is known as cheating so you'd better re-install GTA:VC. If you have a back-up of your handling.cfg then use it. But as you said before, you also have custom cars which are also mods. So you still wouldn't be able to connect even if you did had a back-up of your handling.cfg. The only solution to your problem is to re-install GTA:VC. That's all. Link to comment

l2ebel Posted August 23, 2004 Share Posted August 23, 2004 you cant use modified files with mta, as stated in the guide/manual...USE A FRESH INSTALL OF GTAVC/GTA3 if you still want to play single player with mods than i suggest you to delete your current install, reinstall the game and then you copy your fresh installed game, then you will have 2 installs, 1 for mta and 1 for sp mods modification support might be added in further releases of mta thread closed Link to comment
