esporta05
Hello, my server giving me cant parse meta file error. Whats wrong with the meta file? "Esporta" version="0.5" name="Spawner" description="This script handles spawns and server joins" type="script" /> Link to comment
esporta05
I was using MTA SE. When I create the script from scratch using notepad ++ everything worked just fine. There is a problem about MTA SE but what is the problem? MTA SE is a big comfort for me... Link to comment
Bonsai
Whats MTA SE? Make sure its the right format. Compare a working meta to this one. UTF.. something might be wrong. At least I remember this problem from old MTA Race. Link to comment
12p
Here, I found your problem quickly. I hope this is the correct workaround, because it's supposed to be patched already (unless you got an old version). Edited July 22, 2014 by Guest Link to comment
50p
I'm surprised nobody has ever reported that. That just means nobody uses MTA:SE. If nobody uses your product then you lose interest in it. MTA:SE saves meta.xml file in UTF-8 format but MTA Server doesn't like it. You can fix the file by opening it in Notepad and Save As, then select the format to ANSI. Link to comment
esporta05
I dont beleive that. MTA SE is absolutaly better than notepad ++ for MTA Lua development. Everything is much more faster and easier to do. Link to comment
50p
I know but the biggest reason I lost interest was the syntax highlighter as it's far from perfect. It has plenty of customizations but almost impossible to make it work the way it would be best for MTA. Especially, multi line comments annoy me the most and the author of the highlighter gave me a snippet, it worked fine but only if I haven't used other styles for function names, Lua keywords, etc. I've had many great ideas to add to MTA:SE (.dff/.txd viewer, editing server files via FTP and more) but due to lack of people's interest and annoying highlighter I lost interest too. Anyway, I hope you managed to get your meta.xml fixed. Link to comment
