Server's Name Characters Limit

What's the limit of characters for a server's name?

Also, which collation in MySQL must I use for this column?

I've seen that some servers' names contain strange characters. (Ascii)

I think there's no limit in server names so far, i've seen very long ones.

About the MySQ, im not sure.

Just use UTF-8 and thats it.
