xXMADEXx Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 No legit person is going to host it for free.. The only people who would host a server for free, are bound to steal your scripts. https://mtasa.com/hosters/
CremeDeLaMeme Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 I intend to pay for it, also is it true the player cap is 65K?? other people were telling me its really only 4096.
AeroXbird Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 The theoretical limit is indeed 65535, however in reality no server or ethernet connection can uphold that amount of concurrent users, so 4096 is really the max you can do with a very powerful server.
CremeDeLaMeme Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 gotcha. maybe ill aim for 1000-2000, or open it up for 4000 and see how long befoere it starts to slow up. if i do something like add NPC armies for every player, like 50-100 bot gang do you think it'll slow it up a lot too

AeroXbird Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 MTA in itself is really not all that intensive, it only becomes very CPU intensive once you get a lot of players in a server. And then again the performance of your server relies very much on your scripts. If you scripts are made to do things in a very efficient way, the CPU load is going to be significantly less, I can say this with experience, as my own server performed a lot better after some SQL Query tweaking and some preload functions with an average of 300 players.
