'LinKin
Hello, I've been giving some colors to things such as timeleft, etc.. I changed the color of this: http://s22.postimg.org/tqj1ra8al/MTAQ.png which is shown on the bottom left side of the screen. This is the line that is in race_client.lua g_dxGUI.mapdisplay:text("Map: "..g_MapInfo.name) And below that one, I added this to change the color of the whole text. g_dxGUI.mapdisplay:color(0,240,240) But I don't know how to color "Map:" and "mapName" with two different colors. I've seen this is possible. Link to comment
Castillo
You must edit the library used by the race resource to draw the texts, to enable the colorCoded argument which let's you use HEX colors. Link to comment
'LinKin
Where can I find this library? Link to comment
'LinKin
Alright. I did made a couple of changes in race_client.lua I didn't feel like touching the library. I'm still a beginner. Here's what I got http://s28.postimg.org/b5bachoj1/MTAQu.png Thanks for your colaboration. Link to comment
'LinKin
By the way. How can I use the textlib.lua with other scripts? Anyway to call it from race resource? Link to comment
Castillo
You can copy the script and put it on the other resource. Link to comment
'LinKin
That is very obvious. I meant to call it from another resource. Link to comment
Castillo
You can't export the functions as they're right now, if you want to do that, you'll have to create functions which will call the current ones. Link to comment
codeluaeveryday
Linkin, I feel like you have not received much help from Solidsnake, this is pretty basic though: Change you're map name to: g_dxGUI.mapdisplay:text("Map: #ffffff"..g_MapInfo.name) ^^ Replace the #ffffff with what ever color, find them at colorpicker.com Change textlib.lua to: dxText = {} dxText_mt = { __index = dxText } local idAssign,idPrefix = 0,"c" local g_screenX,g_screenY = guiGetScreenSize() local visibleText = {} ------ defaults = { fX = 0.5, fY = 0.5, bRelativePosition = true, strText = "", bVerticalAlign = "center", bHorizontalAlign = "center", tColor = {255,255,255,255}, fScale = 1, strFont = "default", strType = "normal", tAttributes = {}, bPostGUI = false, bClip = false, bWordWrap = true, bVisible = true, tBoundingBox = false, --If a bounding box is not set, it will not be used. bRelativeBoundingBox = true, } local validFonts = { default = true, ["default-bold"] = true, clear = true, arial = true, pricedown = true, bankgothic = true, diploma = true, beckett = true, } local validTypes = { normal = true, shadow = true, border = true, stroke = true, --Clone of border } local validAlignTypes = { center = true, left = true, right = true, } function dxText:create( text, x, y, relative, strFont, fScale, horzA ) assert(not self.fX, "attempt to call method 'create' (a nil value)") if ( type(text) ~= "string" ) or ( not tonumber(x) ) or ( not tonumber(y) ) then outputDebugString ( "dxText:create - 'LinKin
Thanks! Can you tell me what you modified in the textlib.lua? EDIT: Alright, I noticed 3 changes In lines; 249, 260, 262 You added an argument 'true'. Just one problem, when using strokes, even if you define it with black color, it takes the same colour that you put in g_dxGUI.mapdisplay:text("#990000"..g_MapInfo.name) Causing this: http://s27.postimg.org/v51ynibun/stroke.png Link to comment

'LinKin
This time, it doesn't even colour the text.. But good news, I looked throught the script and found the 'mistake' and corrected it. Now it works 200% - Colours the text - Strokes stay fine Thanks for your colaboration. Link to comment
