MTA:VC LAN

hey,

I just downloaded MTA:VC 0.3r2. I'm trying to get it to work with a LAN, but it says it can't connect. I read in the README that this is only an update and that I need the original MTA:VC 0.3, but I can't find the link to this anywhere on the site. However on the dload link for 0.3r2, it says this is a full installation and that you should uninstall 0.3. Which one is right? Could you help me out with getting this to work on LAN? Thanks.

MTA:VC 0.3r2 is the correct version (we forgot to update the Readme).

As for the LAN, it should be an easy setup. You will have to start a Server on one, and a Client on each of the LAN'd computers. On the computer that is running the Server, connect to "localhost", but on all of the other LAN'd computers, connect to the LAN IP of the Server (not localhost, not the External IP).

Good luck.

Hey, thanks for the quick response. We got connected to each other, but for some odd reason GTA:VC refused to work while I was over at my friend's place. I don't know why. It could be because I used a spare monitor he had so I didn't have to lug along my own, but all the other games we played worked fine on that monitor. Do you know of VC being picky about monitors? We even tried it on a different one. Sometimes games have acted weird while I'm connected to a network, so I even disconnected myself and tried it, but nope. What happened was that it would flash busy for a while but then simply do nothing. Oh well, next time I'll lug along my own monitor and see what happens.
