ERROR: Please turn off compatibility mode.

I have windows 7 and I recently downloaded GTA San andreas, but it won't start without compatibility mode on win98, but if I want to play MTA it gives an error saying "ERROR: Please turn off compatibility mode."

Someone please help me, I already searched 3 days for a solution but just couldn't find one.

Sorry we don't really support any illegal games, so I would have to say buy one and reinstall MTA.

I don't think it has anything to do with the crack, if I buy the game I probably still need to turn on compatbility mode.

Please download and run MTADiag and follow the instructions. It will automatically detect and remove any incorrect compatibility mode settings for you. Also post the MTADiag log it generates so I can see why you require Win98 compatibility mode.

Yep, but my save files are gone in singleplayer.

Any idea how to get them back?

That is odd, they should still be present in your "GTA San Andreas User Files" folder in your "Documents" directory.
