Guest
First off, let me say you guys at MTA have done a great job and made a lot of people quite happy. Myself included. I do realize that the current version is only 0.2 (alpha) and that there is a lot of coding left, but my question is: how far can you take it? Right now when more than one person gets in a vehicle, the lag becomes opressive. Can this (and other problems) be fully overcome? My understading is that R* started to add multiplayer to GTA:VC and never finished it. And now the guys at MTA are getting a handle on the memory addresses (and probably other items) to use that code. Is all the multiplayer code in the game or does it have to be outside of the game code? Is so, can it ever achieve good performance? Then there is the additional question: why did R* stop production of the multiplayer code? Did they find it to be unfeasable? What would that mean for MTA? Perfect perfomance or not, it all boils down to one thing: MTA rocks! Link to comment
Cray
I will only answer the how far question, and we can honestly say we do not know how far we can take it. I don't think we will ever get MTA to a point that it is crashless ... it just seems that what we are doing (modifying memory at run-time), is bad news for the game and therefore leads to undesired results. Who knows, just wait and see ... Link to comment
