0 Tsumetai Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 VPS's ALWAYS lag. They aren't made for game servers.
0 Benevolence Posted October 19, 2011 Author Posted October 19, 2011 That doesn't answer my question and no not all VPS lag, I've used them before. Can other people connect to your server? Use this tool to check: http://nightly.mtasa.com/ports/ Formerly known as Tank07.
0 AGENT_STEELMEAT Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 VPS's are great, especially when you are hosting more than one type of service. I would recommend linux, however. Anyway, option #1 is the better one just beacuse it's nicer. I've seen a server with a very simmilar configuration to that hold up to 80 players with no lag, but bandwidth might be a bit tight. That said, the efficiency of your scripts will have an impact on performance and bandwidth.
0 Benevolence Posted October 19, 2011 Author Posted October 19, 2011 Alright thanks for the feedback. Still need more details from other people so that I can be sure. Can other people connect to your server? Use this tool to check: http://nightly.mtasa.com/ports/ Formerly known as Tank07.

0 AeroXbird Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 VPS's ALWAYS lag. They aren't made for game servers. I once hosted a server with 30 players on a pentium 2 with 128mb ram, no lag.
0 Benevolence Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 Here guys I'll share this CHEAP host with you so that I don't feel selfish lol http://burst.net/. I'm going to try it. 0 AGENT_STEELMEAT Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I did a bit of research on that host, and the reviews are all negative - so look out. I'm looking at server4you.com, looks pretty legit.

0 AGENT_STEELMEAT Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Interesting. Let us know if all goes well.
0 Tsumetai Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Well, it all depends on the amount of cars there will be in the server. Look at Valhalla, they have a VERY GOOD Game server, but they still lag. That's cause they have LOTS of interiors and A SHITLOAD of cars. So, a server like the #1 would be good for let's say..80-90 people? Just don't let them buy 9999 cars.
0 nowofresh Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 1. What dedicted server Do you prefer for server with for examle - 500 players ? 2. When I buy a dedicted server, What to look for ?
