AeroXbird
People are starting to see the downsides of having a not-properly hosted homeserver or a cheap gamehost. 11 y/o's can DOS ( not DDOS, Since i have not seen an 11 y/o with a botnet ) the shit out of it. I really dont regret buying my Zywall. Link to comment

Phat Looser
Do you think informing the police would do something then? After all, in most civilized countries he would go to jail for 2 or more years (in Germany its 3 years, Computersabotage § 303b Abs. 1 StGB). And you should have the IP. Link to comment
zerb
It’s a shame you get these idiots who have nothing better to do in their lives. Unfortunately even if a global ban was introduced (wasn’t there one in the early VC era?), there is always someone who has the brains to break through and hide their identity. People within the community will have to spread the word because once one of these idiots passes on to another game, a new one emerges. We’d advise only to rent from hosts who have plenty of respect and recognition to those who have little experience and knowledge. Link to comment

AeroXbird
hmm any solutions please.... Buy a ZyWALL, and put it infront of your serverrack, its like 700 dollars, but its an investment that is worth it. Link to comment
Phat Looser
Or simply host your server in a server cloud. The clouds are pretty much protected, and mine doesn't only have a "simple" DDoS protection but also 91 Gbit of interweb speeds. The cloud I host at, that is. Not the cloud I own or something.
