I have SAMP downloaded, If I download MTA will it overwrite SAMP?

I want to play MTA to see the difference. I first found out about MTA yesterday when someone was speaking about it on SAMP server. Apparently MTA is alot better ,the only con is that it has less players and is less known.

But that's irrelevant, I just want to know if I download MTA will it overwrite my SAMP or stop SAMP working or anything?

MTA doesn't touch any GTA files - I don't know if SAMP does, if it does, that might prevent MTA working properly. We've never heard of that before though!

SA-MP doesn't modify the game files, but unlike MTA, it needs to be installed into GTA SA directory creating a mess.

I have samp and mta installed and bouth works good. So you don't need to worry about messing up something.

I ever had both SA-MP and MTA SA a while ago, and it doesn't interfere with the multiplayer mods if you use either of them.

So, no worries.

MTA gets installed installed to a seperate folder than the gtasa folder

So to sort this out...

MTA SA: Installs on a seperate folder = Keeps GTA SA directory clean.

SA-MP: Installs on the GTA SA installation directory = Messy GTA SA install.

But still, MTA SA and SA-MP will both work, unless you got to replace something on your models, like gta3.img, so I recommend you to make backups.

Yea the fact that mta installs in a seperate folder is so much more better and organized. Another point for MTA

I used to play both of them installed at one time.

And sometimes I got an annoying bug - in MTA hud disappeared after playing SA:MP.

And I had to go to the GTA single and turn on hud in settings.
