Arran
The downloads on the main page (download button) are outdated, they're the original MTA 1.0.4 (r1854) shouldn't they be changed to a more recent version of 1.0.4? Would save new players having to download 2 or 3 nightly updates (if I remember correctly from last time I installed from the MTA main page) and also for people who want to run the MTA server, r1854 is old and they'd have to use nightly.multitheftauto.com to get a more recent version. 12p
That MTA version is the most stable there is. Nightly Updates are for people that wants to help with bugtracking, but most of MTA players don't want to see its MTA crashing a lot or something like that. Link to comment
Arran
So you're saying that all those crash and bug fixes over the past half a year make MTA more unstable? I don't think so. Link to comment
12p
I meant the latest versions of MTA have some updates that may keep players crashing as before. Like MTA 1.1, you can't say it works 100% crash-less... Because is a NIGHTLY. Link to comment
Towncivilian
The "latest patch of MTA:SA" refers to the release candidate version, which contains stable changes and is recommended for end-users per nightly.multitheftauto.com. Link to comment
eAi
I think people are misunderstanding. The version on the main page should be updated, yes. I'm not sure when we'll get around to it though. People may be unaware that there are actually multiple versions of 1.0.4, and the version on the main page was the initial release. Since it's release there have been a few releases that have fixed bugs, crashes and performance issues and added a few minor features. These releases are not nightly builds. Link to comment
Arran
The version on the main page should be updated, yes. I'm not sure when we'll get around to it though. I'm nearly certain that it was once a more recent version. I only noticed this because I downloaded one from the main page, and installed it for my server. When I started it though nobody was able to connect to the server so I thought there was a problem with the newest release. Turned out though I was actually downgrading to r1854. I had to get the most recent nightly instead. Link to comment
MTA Team Blokker_1999 Posted March 3, 2011 MTA Team Share Posted March 3, 2011 maybe create a 1.0.5? Link to comment
