Do I have to port-forward for MTA?

I am asking 'cause The lowest ping of the server's is 249 wich is wierd. And I am being kicked from every server for high ping, But my friend who doesnt have a router plays normally on the populated server wit hno problems. lets the cops and robbers server, My pign is all ways above 400 and I get kicked in 10 seconds. My friend who lives a mile away from me has a pign lower than 90...

Help?

you don't need to forward anything to play.

press windows key+r, type "ping google.com -t" and tell us what are you getting. (1)

also please specify where do you live (2), and ip of server you are trying to play on (3).

also be sure your computer is free of trojans and viruses - they are often using your computer to send data to internet (eighter your private data, or just using your computer as computer for sending spam). use your antivirus (install demo version if you dont have AV - for example Panda Antivirus) and SpyBot Search & Destroy. (4)

please test your connection with speedtest.net site and post result here (5).

Some ISP's have equipment to detect and throttle BitTrorrent traffic, and MTA can get caught by this.
