Fatal error (6)

Question

Hello,

After transfering a registry.db file from my Test server to my public server, all my users keep getting "Fatal error (6)" I myself only had this error once but then it went away. Is there any fix to this error? I manged to get rid of it by restart MTA but it has not worked for others.

Regards

This error should not occur in 1.0.4

Please reveal:

1. OS (Windows or Linux, and which type/distro)

2. What the server says when you type 'sver' into the console

3. Your server IP (so I can try connecting)

1) Windows server 2008 R2

2) MTA:SA Server v1.0.4-release-1854

3) 188.72.225.276 port 22003

Its weird, I've known 3 people (Including myself) to connect but all the others just keep getting the error. Thanks for replying :)

Ok, this appears to be a bug in MTA: The maximum name length (of 32 characters) for custom data is not being enforced correctly on the client. So, basically, you probably have a client side setElementData call using a name greater than 32 characters. This eventually leads to new players receiving invalid data (fatal error 6) when they join your server.

Thank you so much ccw, it appeared to be the issue. Strange how it worked sometimes for one of us but not others. Yayyyy! No more people nagging me because the server is down. :D
