Guest
Not wanting to give up on the mod I am trying something else. I have a laptop running Win XP Pro and the MTAVC Server software. I then have two PC's running Win98 and the Client software. All machines are connected as a LAN using a 5 port Fast Ethernet Switch. The Vice City game is only installed on the two Win98 machines, not on the XP laptop (server). The server runs fine and appears to be configured properly. The two Win98 client machines connect okay to the server and stay connected. But........ as before, when the clients enter a new game they can't see each other. I have read other posts where users have successfully played MTAVC on a lan where one machine has XP and the other Win98. Where am I going wrong??? I refuse to give up on this. Link to comment
Si|ent
There seems to be 'issues' for most windows98x users, it may be that mta never fully supports those outdated operating systems, much like many other new games and applications. I guess it all depends on if the team have the time to concentrate on that, or even feel it is a priority. I can heartily recommend window2000PRO, or even XP if you prefer more hand holding, or you are not too knowledgable about the nooks and crannies of Wondows. Link to comment
