Master server list could not be retrieved

Hello everybode,

I'm all new to MTA, and like it a lot, but it won't load the list with servers. Strange thing is, it does work on my MacBook running Windows 7, but not on my desktop pc also running Windows 7.

I have tried a lot of things, things like turning off my firewall, adding GTA and MTA to the 'Good' list in my firewall, i've tried connecting it with a cable instead of wireless, but nothing helps so far. I allways get that hated 'Master server list could not be retrieved' error. But i can play online by inserting a IP address and port from Game-Monitor, but having to do that all the time while i like to check out a lot of servers isn't an option.

Anyone knows what i could do to fix this problem?

I use:

  • Windows 7 Ultimate Edition
    AVG Internet Security
    Wireless internet connection
    MTA 1.0.3
    GTA:SA v1.0
    And a lot of caffeine...

You could try disabling internet security. However, this is a known problem and occurs far too often.

Bug report on this problem:

issue #5174

Well, i've allready tried disabling internet security, but it didn't work.

Any other solutions? Because it really annoys the crap out of me xD.

That's in the same bug report. The only thing you can do for now is to see what has changed between the time before and after it broke.
