English servers

[Priceless]

Is there any english servers? Seriously, everytime I go into a server that is english or has english only rule it is filled with arabics and spanish people. What the fuck? All the spanish and arabs do is sit there in spawn with a rocket launcher and keep shooting and when I want to vote kick everyone says "NOOOO!!!!" like they enjoy it. Arabs and Spanish taken over MTA?

When my server was up, we had an English only rule and I tried to make sure it was enforced whenever I could - but of course, people don't give a rat's ass about rules in general, and it appears that the average MTA player has a pretty tenuous grip on his English anyway, if he knows anything at all. (And yes, I have seen players who appear not to.)

This is a pity, of course, because it hurts communication and makes everything a hell of a lot harder than it could be, both for players and administrators.

I thought they usually taught English in schools, and stuff, until I started playing MTA, let alone when I introduced that English-only rule on my server.

The Pothole Studios servers have a heavily-enforced English-Only rule - to the point that you have to prove you can speak english before your chatbox is made available.

However, it's not proved to be very popular.

The rule is unlikely to ever be changed however, the clan leader is quite set on the rule.

(A new system for dealing with non-english players that isn't so harsh is being considered.)

As a previous administrator, I understand him well, but I also understand why it's unpopular.

From an admin's point of view, someone who isn't able to understand you, the staff or the server rules is admin HELL - the reason should be obvious.

From the players' point of view, not being able to talk would also be annoying. Since they don't necessarily know the rules, they can do something, get kicked, and not know what the hell they were kicked for.
