Map question

Hello,

I start my server (127.0.0.1) and when I connect I get a black screen.

When I type into the console of the server: maps I get the message : "There are now maps" and when I type gamemodes I get the message: "There are no gamemodes".

Questions:

1. Where do I download gamemodes and maps?

2. Where do I put them?

I hope someone could answer these very important questions!

Hey,

The modes and maps should of come and do come in the server package.

To avoid the black screen you could automatically load up Freeroam and a map.

For example:

<resource src="fr" startup="1" protected="0"/> 
<resource src="broph" startup="1" protected="0"/> 

Found in the mtaserver.conf

Or you could login as an administrator (/login password) and then press 'p', this would bring up the admin menu to load different resources.

Or even still, you could type '/votemode' and it would give you a list option of the modes you could try.

hey ! ive searched on the forums... i have do what u say , here's my mtaserver.conf :

the pb is when i start the game, it do nothings... seems that the gamemode & the map are not loaded at start.. EDIT: in the admin panel it looks like running.. but (got black screen & got to load them manually)

1- how can i fix that ?

2- what is the defaut san andreas map ressource name ? (all maps, cars everywher ...the big one)

3- what is the ressource to select skins, weapon & add vehicules ? (when u press F1..)

- Remove the 2 lines of CDM from the mtaserver.conf, the 2 you added

- Start it manually by doing "gamemode cdm cdm_ls"

2. There isn't any for as far as I know

3- yay i just found it... i copied the zip in the resource directory... but donno how to lauch it, help plz ?

EDIT : nvm... works.... but do i simply type "gamemode freeroam" ? and voilà ?

2ndly if u have 5 minutes, could u come test wiz me if my server is online plz ? its called "GROVE VS BALLAS == CHEATARZ ALLOWED =D"

if u cant join, plz tell me what i need to do ...

i forwarded UDP , UDP +123 , TCP for incomings..

then in mtaserver.conf ive not set any ip......

1. There is a way to make it auto-start, but needs to be scripted. (LINK) I might make a resource for this sometime and upload it on community, until that time, you'd need to do it manually or script it.

2. Freeroam doesn't spawn any vehicles automatically, you need to map yourself for it or look for a pre-existing map

3. Simply "gamemode freeroam"

To check if you can join, look up your IP HERE, fill it in on "Quick connect" and fill in the correct port. In this way, your PC will try to connect externally, even though the server is internal. Get it?

btw, do u know a good RPG mode that works fine ? and how to lauch it ?
