Guest Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Alt tab often results in the keyboard focus moving to another application, but not the display If your intention was to disable alt-tab completly, it would be incredibly stupid not to at the very least have an option to re-enable it somehow, as developing/debugging scripts becomes a very large pain in the ass very quickly having to exit the game, only to find out you made some tiny typo that can be fixed in 2 seconds, then having to wait another 30 seconds for all the load screens and clicking to get back into the bloody game to continue testing... The situation is made even worse by mta/lua's tendency to only point out certain types of errors on load/refresh, and waiting till the code is run to point out the rest
Guest Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 it's like that to prevent most people from using cheating program like the gta admin console for singleplayer. it helps deal with most people trying to cheat but not all.
Guest Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 I hate it that alt+tab is disabled, if xfire is not working in-game (scrolllock + x) you need to quit the game and talk to that person. It's very annoying...
sebihunter Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 I think it should be activated (alt+tab) they are cheating without it too! So why it needs to be deactivated
FireBlood Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 it's like that to prevent most people from using cheating program like the gta admin console for singleplayer. it helps deal with most people trying to cheat but not all. it is not. Well, half i think. It is also because GTA freezes when you switch back to Windows. So when it is frozen no one is able to kill you etc. There should be some sort of script debugging thing, like in SA:MP
tomozj Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 In the scripting channel I was told the reason in infact what FireBlood pointed out, that it freezes the player. However I was told that they might get around to fixing this, however I guess that's nothing certain, for now.
Guest Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 either way it should stay the way it is as far as im concerned.
VCES>RonSeal Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I fail to see how it prevents cheating having alt-tabbed disabled.
ExPloiTeD Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Alt + Tab is already been mentioned and anwsered (by Talidan) in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=96&t=21091
