Won't Start

Hi there,

I have GTA 3, VC and SA for PC. I have tried the MTA CLients for each of these games and it has not worked, ever. I am thinking this is because i run vista but i remember them not working on XP for me as well. I bought SA for pc because i thought multiplayer would rock :D so if you guys could help me with this problem i have been having i would be appreciated. When i install version 1.0 of the client it installs fine but when i try to load it up i get the error message:

"The Application has failed to start because MSVCP71.dll was not found. Re-Installing the application may fix this problem"

Ok so that did't work, so i downloaded 1.1 just to see what would happen. Then i got this message while installing

"The Application has failed to start because MSVCP71.dll was not found. Re-Installing the application may fix this problem"

So i ignored it and carried on, then when i tried to load up the application i got the error message

"The exception unkown software exception (Oxc00000005) occured in the application at location 0x056b8c0f

Click on OK to terminate the program"

I don't think my game is patched so which of the two versions should i be using? even though neither of them worked. Which is the best solution to the problem?. If the problem is vista will it ever get supported?

Many thanks! my setup is:

Windows Vista Ultimate 64BIT

AMD Athlon 3500+

Geforce 7600GS 512MB

3GB DDR2

how is that a solution if you remove one of the main mta files and it won't let you player without it

The thread starter complained about error messages showing up. Deleting the Client.dll file fixes this.

"Its the same when you installing it and click "Race Core" off

That as well too. But make sure you select "Map Editor" though as that will work. If you have problems with the MTA Login Center, download and extract the "MSVCP71.DLL" file.

You dont need to tell me 'How to...', but the MTA Center Login is not needed for playing.
